@cheeze_pizza I really dig your bass tones, since you have the V4. Incredibly cool amp. Don’t know if I already said that, but a friend of mine owns one and he lent it to me at a time. I did a few rehersals with it, so for having played this amp several times at reasonnably high volume, I know it a little bit and I love it. Also your cab and mic sound excellent.
Also great playing as always. I like what you do with a lot of Mayer Hawthorne songs in a row.
Yeah there’s rare cases where I would recommend miking and amp and this is one. If you’ve got one (or one of a few other SVT models that don’t have good sims), mike it
This would also be a good use of a ToneX or a Quad Cortex.
my idea with my current gear is to record the SVT using the embedded DI (post preamp, XLR) into my DAI and then apply an IR cab in Reaper, what do you think ?
I’d like the real NOS tubes and old SVT preamp sound, with something simpler than micing the cab. Also if I need to mic, it’s still possible.
(and also I know it will probably not sound better than the old Bass POD Pro but it’s fun to record real tubes)
@BillBass - I am confused a bit here, as there a bunch of bass notes being played and you are not plucking anything. Your fingers also appear to be playing notes where there aren’t any.
@John_E Yeah It’s called out of sync audio and video. I shot it on my phone and recorded it on a DAW at the same time. Imported the Audio and Video separately to Microsoft Clip Champ which is not the greatest. Noticed it the next day after I already posted it to YouTube. Seemed better with a few drinks in me. Ha Did not really care all that much. Thanks for pointing that out though!
