Good job my brother!
Nice job cheese
Just by eyeballing, they appear to generally be where I would expect them to be. Good point, though, and I’ll play around with raising them to see if I get more output. I’ve been reading up on Warwick forums, and apparently the low output of these MEC pickups is by design. All good, I just need to know to add and remove gain when switching between basses. I’ll report back on the pickup height experiment.
Man I’ve really enjoyed watching your videos and this is no exception. Killing it!
Thank you @TheMadBassist!
Great job on this one! One of my favorite CCR songs.
A life in the road, eh? My job frequently takes me away from home, but this time the bass came with me. Tonight’s ‘studio’ is a crappy hotel room in a lacklustre hotel, just off the M6 motorway in the U.K.
This is a cover of a Duran Duran song from the Big Thing era, Do You Believe In Shame. About the loss of a friend, I think it beautiful. It’s also the first song I actually learnt on the bass, in one of my many moments of distraction from the B2B course. The song also has resonance. The reason I picked up the bass and decided to learn last summer was due to the untimely deaths of two people I knew, one a colleague and the second a client. Both were of a similar age to me, both were married and both had children.
Life is short, life is precious and we really do only get one shot at it.
Duran Duran - Do You Believe In Shame
The Steinberger was plugged directly into the Scarlett Solo, then into GarageBand. I played the bass track twice and added the Phase Tripper effect to one track and High Drive effect to the second. In addition, I added high compression to both tracks and pulled them forward in the mix - you can’t miss it! So while the end result sounds pretty heavily processed, I like it
Nice one as always
Sounds like one of ours
Funny, I only think of him as the “Love A Rainy Night” guy, forgot about this tune.
Great job again. What’s the bass and pickups in this one?
My ex is a Duran Duran freak, literally used to follow them around the world.
Don’t know this one but you did a great job again!
It’s been a while… It’s kinda cobbled together (forgot what I’m doin with Resolve ), but it’s stupid o’clock in the morning with nothin better to do so…
Linkin Park - Shadow of the Day
On the Sire V8, no effects, just straight into the DAI
This works so well with the song, and sounds fantastic IMO! Nice performance!
It’s fun playing with the sounds you can achieve. I really like the two track idea, with a slightly different treatment on each, then pan one a little right and the other a little left. Going to try this on some other songs…
I’m also conscious that in some of my other covers, while in GarageBand, and to be honest. iMovie, the bass sounds fine, by the time I’ve uploaded to YouTube it seems a little lost. I decided to go over the top this time
Thanks John. This is my Squier Contemporary Active jazz bass. The pickups are “SQR” ceramic humbuckers.
Another excellent performance sunDOG!
Good job DeadPixels!
I haven’t followed them around the world, but I have seen them 7 times
Thanks @JerryP!
Happy Friday low downs, my first song of the day! Hope you enjoy my cover of Rage Against The Machine (Renegades Of Funk) https://youtu.be/svYWmF9geDU?si=VLHkuN_pye0wCvLw
