Exactly ain’t no sense in killing yourself over a song haha

Us hippies have to stick together haha thanks so much!!
Very good job getting new covers out here almost every day. There are a lot of great covers from @TheMadBassist, @JustinAndSheba, @sunDOG, @Paul_9207 @DeadPixels @fennario @401Blues @JerryP in just the last week. You choose great songs and do really good covers! There are so many good songs here to learn when the 50 song challenge is done. Do you have them all transcribed and is there somewhere we can share tabs or sheet music? I think I need this weekend to get the next one done, then it’s going to be some kind of wonderful. Keep those covers coming and have a great weekend!
I was going to do one tonight, but the Moises vocal track isn’t downloading properly - basically nothing in it - so I’ve given up! Will have another go over the weekend
Lol, my Davinci Resolve has given up on life too
Working on it though
Thanks buddy! Together we will defeat the amount of covers done on the site last year! I’m usually good for 1 to 2 every Friday. That’s my normal day to do videos. I’m off
On Fridays so I have all morning to devote to this. I do need to get my audio interface up and running. I’ve just been lazy. It’s so easy to just record with your phone using tv speakers and post it, but I’ll work towards that very soon.
My goal for the year is to learn the different 16 styles for the Blues… each of my covers will demonstrate a rhythm, articulation or chord progression unique to that style.
Very nice. Double tracking like this is a common technique and works great to make the bass sound bigger. And actually the phaser effect on one track is a good way to achieve that.
In the future, you don’t need to play it twice - you can duplicate the recorded track in the DAW and then work on them both. What I usually do:
I then put them both on a bus under the same master track, where I put the amp and cab sim.
There’s also a great plugin that automates a lot of this for you, MDoubleTracker:
Rage basslines are so fun to groove to, great job!
Great job @cheeze_pizza! Those 16ths drove me crazy too when I did this one. For those wondering why this is a “level 3” song, that’s why. Way to go!
They sure are, thanks buddy!
Didn’t think it’d take me nearly 3 weeks into the new year to finish my first song of 2024. Been getting really distracted lately (looking at you Alan Wake II) and have been trying to learn too much at once. I am almost finished with like four different songs but I need to just focus on one at a time. Anyways…
Every tab I have seen for this song, and basically every cover on YouTube all play the chorus the same way
I listened to the isolated track many many times and the section is played very quickly so it was hard to figure out exactly what was going on, but I knew for sure the section of repeated A notes wasn’t right. I’m not sure if what I came up with is accurate or not, but here’s what I’m playing instead
Also, every tab wants you to play the main riff like this
Which felt super tricky for me to play. Something about all those open strings was just tripping me up, so why not make it easier!
Also at the end of the guitar solo I could not for the life of me figure out what the hell was going on, so I just made something up
Sammy Hagar - Heavy Metal
Very good, @Ant! And don’t think it matters much whether you use an A on the E string instead of an open A, but using an open A saves your fingers. I guess.
Way to use the old noodle amigo! Rest the fretting hand when you can!
