Sounds great dude! Simple songs have their own challenges. A lot of times I struggle with the repetitive chugging lines, it’s just so repetitive, and to keep up the exact same cadence throughout the entire song can be tough.
Whoa, nice! Have been loving this series man!
Nice @JerryP ! Love this tune man!
Nice job! I love OMD. I got to see them live a couple years ago. They are the sound of my very early childhood.
Thanks fennario!
Maybe fire back with a cover of “Take this job and shove it” haha
Have you seen “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines”?
Imagine a girlfriend like T-X (no, that’s not Schwarzenegger ^^) … and then think again about your choice of songs to play
That’s some smooth playing 401, great song choice too!
Thanks @dlamson13 …yea I never got tired of listening to the song…lol
…………
Great job as always bud!!
Last week Slayer, this week Alan Parsons Project! Keep being unpredictable, it’s all great stuff!
Awesome Justin!
I’m not really a Beatles fan, but one of the band suggested we learn Twist and Shout…
Picking up on the point I made regarding the OMD cover, it is interesting seeing how songs are constructed. This one also has a repeating bass line, with two deviations for the ‘aaaaahs’, the first where you just ride an A, and the second, where you walk up from the A to the close. Very simple. It’s also interesting to hear the song - yes it’s in stereo, but the vocals are mainly in the right ear and the instruments mainly in the left ear.
Anyway, here it is:
The Beatles - Twist and Shout
We shot the video on the beach in Swanage, standing on a groyne - and no I wasn’t going to groove on one as I didn’t want to fall off
I recorded the bass line on my Dingwall, but used the Steinberger for the video as that the bass I have with me this weekend!
Thanks man
Thanks. Yeah, I like to mix it up.
Cheers Jerry!
Great rendition and great video on this sunDOG!
RHCP - Under The Bridge
Song #49 of the 50 Songs Challenge is complete and I now feel that my bass playing is better than my video editing skills. I hope you will give me feedback if there are any mistakes in technique or anything else so that I can correct them. Thank you.
