it’s an habbit really
For sure. After a week it was not an issue at all. But tricky at first.
yeah, sure, hardcore string crossing
@Paul_9207 - if you want a string crossing pick workout, this is a favorite of mine to noodle:
Plus, of course, it sounds amazing. Throw some chorus and delay on it
For pure skill stuff, I would be more on the disco things. Like this old french song, try to play this even at low speed with a pick, playing strict octaves (not necessarily the original bass line but that’s not the point) …
and also an extremely good exercise for fast octaves. quite hard if you decide to stick with a pick at full speed :
Yeah I find disco octaves at speed very difficult, even to this day. Usually for the left hand though, for some reason I hate fretting them.
I’m quite comfortable with the left hand because all my guitar background (and all the muting stuff) but the right hand is a bit more challenging for me because it’s just very tyring when playing with a pick. It just requires a lot of energy and stamina.
To be honest, I’m not sure I have the level to play Born To Be Alive (pick or fingers - I can play either a short time) because of the stamina.
Yeah there’s no real reason why they should be hard for me, just one thing that never clicked. Giorgio would be so disappointed. You can just feel his disdain:
and now I’m pluging a P into a SVT to try all that …
Those were both pretty good songs actually, was going to say
sure !
well there is something about muting when you play octaves with a pick, but I don’t have the words in english.
“merde”?
also you know clipping like that actually sounded surprisingly excellent
That’s some fine playing, both in the drums and the bass!! Well done!!!
Great playing, @JerryP! Aerosmith are a class act, aren’t they?
Really cool, Paul. Great job. Next time with vocals, please
Thank you sunDOG!
Yes, they are.
