Yeah, don’t know what it is, just started practicing some songs Alice In Chains song that I knew were played with a pick and I was, man this is dope!
And that song has great energy, it is a blast to play.

Thanks mate, it was a bit of a challenge, but very rewarding to do. I just hate the fact that I can play it fairly easily now. As soon as I turned on the camera I botched the intro like 5 times…
Yep!! That’s how it goes!
Good job @Nebel And excellent choice with the pick!
If I may ask, is that a projection on the ceiling behind you? I’m thinking of getting a little projector like that myself…
Went a little old school (for me) on these. I left the pick on the bench and went for a cleaner tone than I’ve done in awhile. My goal with these was to play a. Radiohead, one of my favorite bands over the past 30 years b. I wanted to play something that I couldn’t hide behind effects or put myself lower in the mix in to hide sloppy play. These songs are mostly bass and piano. They’re simple bass lines but every flaw is right there. I double tracked Codex and made some changes to panning on each and pitch shifted the second bass track, I love the way the sound turned out, it sounds so much fuller this way.
They’re shorter songs so I did 2 of them.

Radiohead - Codex
Isn’t that the truth. It’s often the seemingly simple ones that can catch you out as you have to be perfect in your playing. I’ve done a couple where I have really stripped them back, it really exposes you.
Well played, @faydout!
Thanks Ed!
And yes, it’s a small projector that I purchased last year. I also have a few lava lamps as I absolutely adore that stuff.
I added a picture here for ya:
KEWYA Astronaut Projection Lamp
Thank you. I loved the process of working through these 2. The bass and piano are so in sync on them that any extra pluck or 1/4 second off on timing becomes glaring. A few of them made it through to the recording but they felt good to play tonight.
@faydout great work and love the tone!
That G&L looks like a nice instrument. Sounds good too.
Thanks! I’m going to put it in my rat room - I think the ratties get a bit bored at night and it’ll give them something to look at.
As long as they don’t think they’re gazing into the Eye of Terror
As long as they don’t mutate, a bit of exposure to chaos is quite alright
Nice job on both of these faydout!
It’s Saturday, so here’s my latest…
Edwin Star - War
Ibanez EHB1000S into the Ampero One, then on into Garage Band.
Written in 1969 as an anti Vietnam war song, War was originally recorded by The Temptations, however it was deemed too political for their largely conservative fans.
It was then rerecorded by Edwin Star in 1970, which is the version we have here. Incidentally, the song was also covered by Frankie Goes To Hollywood in (I think) 1984.

As ever, comments welcome!
Great cover, mate! Sounds really good.

Good god y’all… Great job sunDOG!

That’s a really good cover, Jerry. Great playing, great sound. I like the two camera setup as well.
This song is really fun to play. It’s fast, but not too tricky. Hitting octaves with a pick is a little tricky though. The drums took me a while to learn.
I love this album, the early 90’s had some great music. This is the title track from their first album. I would listen to this a lot when I was maybe ten years old.
