Post your covers! (2024)

Yeah, the speed is what eventually gets me on that one. I can play In a Lonely Place now (should record that one, one of these days) but I’d love to get She’s Lost Control down. I don’t have a ton of trouble with Simon’s bass lines. Charlotte Sometimes is kicking my ass.

Sometimes Gallup does things like huge string crossings but they work out awesome once you get them. Check out Disintegration - very fun to play but weird to get down at first

“2112” by Rush.

Specifically, the radio-friendly parts, that is, “Overture” and “Temples of Syrinx.”

Also, do y’all like the red circle?

This is an anti war song.

The Cranberries - Zombie

Dingwall Combustion into the Ampero One, then on into Garage Band.

Even though it’s pretty simple, it took quite a bit of concentration to play each note evenly, plus perfectly hit the transitions …four-AND . (I’m not going to tell you how many takes it took to get this down in one go - 5 minutes, no mistakes)

Heads up, this is a Christian worship song.

“Far Cry” by Rush.

One of their more recent tracks from Snakes & Arrows. Good stuff.

“Jacob’s Ladder” by Rush.

I did a cover of this about a month or two ago, but wanted to redo it with a proper aspect ratio, standing position, and the new Japanese flag aesthetic I added to my pickguard.

Thank you, @saroohoo! There is something about just laying down the 8ths that I really like! As I mentioned, the challenge here was keeping on top of the …and one transitions, as the song is quite hypnotic and despite being simple, pretty easy to mess up - as I did a fair few times

@Paul_9207, thank you, much appreciated!!

Well played, @Qohelet-David. Not a Rush fan myself, but good to see your videos / playing!

(Thanks for marking Here In Your House as worship music)

Thank you sir! Glad you enjoyed them, against your better judgment.

And of course! Better to give someone a choice, than to push it or subtly deceive.

Phew, been a while since I had something to post with all the craziness around here.

A few mistakes, but overall happy with it, especially since it’s my first time really playing a lot with a pick.

Nice picking Nebel! Very well done!

Thanks Jerry, I’ve gotten quite fond of the pick lately. Never thought I’d be a fan, but I feel some songs are just better played with a pick.

Good job! That looks like a lot of fun to play.

I felt the same when I started playing. I almost prefer it now. I probably use a pick 90% of the time now and I just think it’s a lot of fun to play with one.

Always have preferred it personally but also super glad I picked up fingerstyle, of course. Still, pick all the way for me.
