Thanks @JohnF ! Loved your version of Old Man! It would appear you’ve figured out the nuances of recording through the DAI
That was great John!
Lots of firsts there, @JohnF! Great cover!!
Fanatastic @JohnF great transition between verse and course! I was 16 when this song came out…wore out the cassette tape in my car stereo…lol
Thanks again for your assistance in figuring out the DAI. I’ll tell you that listening to myself play on direct monitor through the DAI makes it a lot easier to notice errors versus playing along to a track and cranking up the amp.
@JerryP and @sunDOG Thanks for listening!
@401Blues Thanks for the encouragement! Harvest is an amazing album.
Sounded great John! Nice mellow tone and you nailed the timing. Love Neil, tried posting a cover of “Comes A Time” last winter but got blocked, might have to put it on Vimeo.
Thank you…I appreciate that! Looking forward to hearing your cover of Comes a Time!
NICE!
That sounded great @JohnF
Another day one cover. I threw some chorus and reverb in there but not a lot else. Now that I’m sitting here having listened with headphones on, I wish I’d brought the backing song up some, I like where the bass is but the song itself feels quiet. A few happy little accidents but this was the 4th or 5th time I played it so I’ll take it.
Sonic Youth - Becuz
That’s a good cover, never heard much Sonic Youth. I do like the bass being that much upfront (well of course I do ), as it suits the subtlety of the song. Good stuff.
Latest one from me - I had a phase where I listened to this song obsessively. There are a few musicians in particular whose passing I really felt, Chris Cornell was one of them. This tune tends to get me emotional when I hear it - it’s just beautiful.
I started playing this just the other day and could do with some more practicing to get the sections with muting nailed, but wanted to record it anyway
Usual process - recorded via Focusrite 4i4 then random fiddling about in Garageband.
Like a Stone by Audioslave
Nice @faydout , really solid rhythm
I tend to agree with you, but a bassist, we do like bass forward mixes . Great playing!
Love the tone to used there, @saroohoo, well done!
Another groovy tune. I always love seeing you mellowing out to it, very nice playing.
Gun - Word Up
In 1994, Gun produced probably the best cover of Cameo’s 1986 hit, Word Up. It rocks!!
It was also super Dingwall fun playing along!! Unusually, for me at least, played with a pick as I wanted that sharp the attack
Nice cover! The tone of the bass in that song is unique and i like the bass turned up in bass covers. The video fadeout at the end has to be your thing with the name you chose!
