Post your covers! (2024)

Love the song choice and it sounded great! You look very comfortable while playing (thought you might forget to start playing again as you were chilling to the quiet vocal part, but then you found your mark on time!).

What a great song and fantastic cover, that sounded absolutely awesome! The ghost notes sounded ghostly enough as far as I could tell

Absolutely one of my favorite Audioslave tunes. The CC song that always gets me in the feels is “Seasons”.

Thanks - but really this is just a great chilled and fluid bassline, so it’s easy to vibe to it  I found it really enjoyable to play.

There are a couple of other tunes I’m practicing at the moment that are way more fast and furious, I’m definitely not so relaxed  I haven’t got them down well enough to record them yet.

A little bit of chill dreampop, I had this one come through one of my playlists while I was working out the other day and dug the bass line to it. I just played with the reverb a little. It sounds good with heavier reverb / delay and some chorus but it gets a bit lost in the mix like that. Other than that, I’m running it through my Keeley comp and the preamp is set to SVT 4X10.

Yes! Sonic Youth is widely regarded for their subtlety.

Thank you

Excellent, I had a little fun with the effects for it. The original isn’t quite as out there. If I was guessing, I’d think Kim Gordon just had some chorus on hers. I figured if I’m doing Sonic Youth, it’s a good opportunity to lay it on a bit thicker. The fading out at the end didn’t even occur to me (as far as my user name). I’ve used this for decades and it comes from a Radiohead tune (Fade out) Street Spirit. I agree though, this is going to be a thing I do on my videos from now on.

I’ve also found that. In isolation, leads of effects can sound good, but in the mix, sounds rubbish. Back it off, and the bass sounds far better. I guess the ultimate expression of this is a p-bass!

Very dreamy song, btw! Great playing!

It’s a great song! I remember first hearing it and thinking ‘Wow!”. :metal:

I was concentrating quite hard on this one - the pick is not natural territory for me

Cool isn’t it? :sunglasses:

To pick, or not to pick, that’s the question… as I say, I wanted that sharp attack :metal:

Such an iconic line!!
