Thank you kindly!
Nice job @Nebel ! STP have some really cool basslines!
Thanks @sunDOG !
Brit-pop’static! Great playing, @faydout! Three of members of Blur were contemporaries of mine at university, not that I knew them
100% this!! I don’t know about you, @Nebel, but I feel like a kid in a sweet shop! Great playing!
I’d love to have a pint or two with Alex (especially Alex) and Dave. Damon and Graham look like they’d be cool but a bit aloof.
I’d want to pick Damon’s brain. Guy is a complete musical genius.
Oh yeah, for sure! I’m eyeing a few more STP songs for new projects because of Plush.
@fennario thanks bud, and yeah, the groove is real here!
Yeah totally. My musical taste is not exactly what you call extremely broad, I only listen to metal since it what gets my system going, but PLAYING other genres where the bass line is tasty, gets my system going as a bass player.
This was basically my first time hearing STP back in the 90’s when grunge became a thing, this (stupid, narrow minded) teen metal head did not look at it with kind eyes, but sometimes with age comes wisdom.
Bad Company Can’t Get Enough Bass Cover.
Trying out my new Ernie Ball Slinky Cobalt flatwound strings. Will see how they sound with my band. I always use roundwounds. These have a bit more punch than other flatwound strings I have played in the past. Tone is about three quarters on my P Bass. Maybe I will convert. Will see!
Good job mate. Those Ernie ball sound great!
Yeah, thanks, I would like that, time to beat a bass demon…
Today’s offering is a 1976 disco classic! All my covers are fun, but this one was super-fun, especially with my daughter dancing along!!
Money M - Daddy Cool
Dingwall > Ampero One > GarageBand
Another great cover. I’ve been thinking about this one for quite some time. Such a great bass line.
Daddy Cool > released- 1976 > existence vindicated and worth verified- right here, right now!
Thanks for the cover, that was really nice to listen to! Your technique looks clean, you seem relaxed and didn’t miss a beat.
In the solo part, was that your choice to have less legato/bound notes? I play that with a different feel, so I was just wondering. And I noticed you played fewer and shorter slides - I have to try that myself!
Nice Talman bass.
Cheers,
Antonio
Very well done Bill! The EBs sound fantastic.
That was really fun to watch /listen sunDOG! Great job!
this video is next level really
Thanks Antonio - I think I played around with that solo part a bit, and actually didn’t like my recorded version there, it felt stilted - but I couldn’t be bothered to re-record it
