Fantastic @sunDOG, looks like you had the disco lights and props on the go too. And a dancer as well of course! Well done to you both, I loved it

YouTube has been blocking some of my videos in the US and other regions for copyright, so if you can’t find a song on my channel that was there before, that’s why. I noticed that my covers of Rush “The Big Money,” Alan Parsons Project “Games People Play,” and several others weren’t on my video list on the main page today. It’s not just my channel either, as I searched other covers of the same Rush song and they were gone as well. Troy Hughes had over 160 Rush covers on his channel and YouTube blocked all but 18 of them. I suggest checking if covers by other people on YT have been blocked before taking the time to learn a song for a video only to have it denied.

UPDATE: The blocking of videos is due to a contract dispute between SESAC (a performing rights organization) and YouTube. They’re blocking ANYTHING associated with SESAC, including licensed videos by the original artists, including Alice in Chains, Green Day, Adele, and many others. You can read about it at this link. Thanks Trav! How’s things going with the band?

Thanks @Paul_9207 ! The room doubles as both my home office (side that the camera is on) and a music room, so needless to say I spend quite a bit of time there.

@TheMadBassist thanks man. My wife actually picked it out. I was going for a slightly cheaper model, but she said “I like this one” and truth be told, it played better than the others I tried. I didn’t want to spend too much on my first bass as I’m always anxious if I will continue a newly started hobby.

@Paul_9207 thanks Paul, was a great piece to play, lotsa groove here.

Do it, @Nebel, it’s fun to play!!!

Ha! Disco ROCKS @paulxbass :man_dancing::metal:

Thanks, @JerryP!

Thank you, @terb, my daughter and I put a bit of thought into it. She really enjoyed the dancing!

Thank you, @saroohoo!!

Thanks @AndreaJayne! The lights were a couple of bike lights on flash mode, we were both sporting mascara moustaches (quite why my daughter wanted one, I don’t know, but she did!), and to top it off, I was wearing a golden shirt :man_dancing: obviously the real kudos is for my daughter and her dancing!!

Thanks @Barney! It took a bit of practice to get spot on, but it’s now one of my ‘warm up’ songs - such fun to play! Re: a band … a story of (cliched) musical differences, but I think we’re up and running again…!

Thanks @TheMadBassist! :man_dancing:

Just had a chance to watch - fun song and great playing of course as always. That said, clearly your daughter steals the scene here. Kudos all around!

I’m very impressed by your competence at only a year of playing but I’m guessing you went the same route as me and went ‘all in’ on practicing.

Strange how practicing more, makes you better than simply buying more gear :man_shrugging:

Hope the band works out. We have another gig next week and I’m having a lot of fun playing with others.

Pretty much. I learn best by doing, the covers give me a goal and a motivation. What I’m now finding is that i can get on top of relatively simple songs pretty quickly, while the harder ones, obviously, take some time, but I figure the more I do, the better at it I get.

Regarding the band, we lost the guitarist. It then took most of the summer to find someone we gelled with. Trouble is, over the next month, we currently have two members away on business for an extended period, so can’t get together until the end of Oct. Still, gives me a chance to learn a whole bunch more songs

Hi all! Posted another cover today, had a lot of fun learning this one - by the way, does anyone have any tips on how to make my videos look a little more “professional” (better text/ transitions, etc) Im using iMovie and have very limited experience in any other program lol
