Post your covers! (2024)

Great job, my dude! Your ears must have been burning. I just thought I should give Ain’t No Rest a try yesterday after I heard it driving around. I didn’t play yesterday (at a concert) and have every plan to look it up tonight.

Did not lose any of my videos on YouTube surprisingly but I noticed a few videos blocked by SESAC that were not previously. Did not know it was a contract dispute. Hopefully they get it solved. Thanks for the info!

Facebook muted the last video I posted due to copyright issues though. Never happened to me before in the US on Facebook. Just a few other countries.

I am not a professional, but lighting and composition are always a key factor in making anything look good. transitions in iMovie are limited, but you can get by with them. Just like with bass, the more videos you make the more you learn.

I use iMovie on my iPhone for all my videos. Basically, I’d say you have to play with it and experiment. If you look at my covers, you can see changes in the videos as I’ve discovered more things iMovie can do. As @Paul_9207 said, lighting and composition is important, plus it’s worthwhile thinking about if the video is just going to be you, playing the baseline in realtime (i.e. as you record) or are you shootings the video later? I do both, depending on time and if I have a slightly more elaborate plan for it. A another point, is there a look that you’re going for? All of mine are cartoonified, it’s the thing that binds them together, whether I’m doing a ‘live’ take or wondering in the woods, or on a beach, miming a line I have previously recorded. Yep, I’ve stood in the woods, bass in hand (actually have one in need to shoot in the woods, but the weather has been cr@p), I’ve stood in the sea with a bass, I’ve mimed in a bandstand . My latest idea has been to play in from of the TV, with the video of the song playing behind me. My family think I’m an exhibitionist madman that has regressed to the age of 18! Whatever I do in the video, it is then cartoonified, linking it to the other ‘sunDOG’ videos.

Anyway, @Paul_9207 has his look, @TheMadBassist has his, as do @Justin3 and @Ed. Others do too … are you going to have one?

Does “exhibitionist” mean the same in English as in German?

errrrrr, no.

In standard English, English, an exhibitionist is a ‘show off’. I’ll leave it at that.

The video looks good to me @tonyd89 - not least because it shows off that fine looking bass! Also the music production was nice. Maybe fade the video out at the end?

Thanks! The only thing I try to do is take a longer shot so I can crop the picture to vertical and use a clip on Instagram

It’s been getting far to upbeat and cheerful around here lately, so I thought I’d do something about that :joy:
Behind Blue Eyes-Limp Bizkit
This is so easy, it should be in module one of Josh’s course, but it kept me occupied for the morning.
I promise I’ll do a happy song next!

Very well done, AndreaJayne! Slow tempo songs sometimes present more of a challenge than something upbeat.

Cool! I’ve always liked this version of the song!! Well done!

(As one of the people who posted happy stuff recently, please be assured I’m posting a miserable song on Wednesday )

I got the bass recorded, mixed and exported tonight for my next cover. I need to get the video recorded tomorrow and toss them together, but I’m pretty stoked about it.
