We have band practice this coming week - I was playing it this morning, messing around with delays. For the version I posted, I didn’t use a delay and wanted to create an effect of delay using my fingers.
Incidentally, I recorded another cover this past week, that I’ll post in a week or two. It’s a song our guitarist wants to do, but the “proper” bass line is so boring, I had to add fills to stop myself falling asleep ![]()
Yeah I like what you did with it. Sounds like something Gallup would do if he were bored ![]()
Thanks brother Jerry!
Great job amigo!
Awesome job. Great video too…even thought it made me a little dizzy.
Nice one, man!
Moises is pretty dope and probably the reason I even started down this road. I didn’t think of using my iPad to record. Right now I’m using zoom for video and recording audio into Reaper.
Eventually I’ll start working on getting the sound right but as a beginner I thought no leaving it raw will help me learn more from the experience.
Hahahah I was laughing at my “Resting bass face” and how I was checking my hand position even during the break. I go from looking like a bouncer to looking like a smiling jolly old soul. No inbetweens.
My daughter is in two minds about the outdoor videos, one on hand she can demand a higher payment, on the other, she finds me acutely embarrassing ![]()
Thank you @Blaze!
Ha! Sorry!! ![]()
Once you work it out, @MattyD, the process is fairly simple. For the one I posted today, it took longer to walk to the park and back - it’s literally next door to the house - than it did to shoot the video on the phone, then sync it with the audio track. Regarding the audio track, as I say, I just use GarageBand on the phone. Setting up to record is super-simple, it probably takes longer to tune the bass than it does to plug the cables in ![]()
Great cover @sunDOG !
I’m starting to work on the new one they just released the other day. That’s a fun bass line to play.

Hey, no need to worry. That was a fine first cover and getting that first one out there is a big brave thing. Congrats and keep them coming!
This Jaguar has a great volume control for the pickups and the tone knob has a big impact too.
Since @John_E make it so fashionable to do this mega catch up post, I thought I try it out. Don’t worry, besides 2 bags of popcorn, I also finish a 3 course meal.
