I think my hands are better fitted for a 5 string than a 4 string lol. I just have a more comfortable time playing on it. Here’s another Deftones song that’s in my top 3 from the band. One of those songs where you remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard it for the first time.
I’m starting to rely on my ear more and more with each song instead of looking up tabs. This could be played on a 4 string in drop C but I thought it’d sound more powerful on my 5 string. I even added a little improv bass fill towards the end!
we gotta look like a team. I think I wore different shirts for one video, I just don’t bother any more. Maybe someday I’ll get some hats and wigs and pretend to have a real band.
If you don’t like to play with a pick that’s fine. When I started playing bass I would use a pick 10% of the time depending on the song. Now I use a pick 90% of the time because I’m playing a lot of punk songs. I honestly think it’s more fun to play with a pick, but I’ll play fingerstyle when the song calls for it.
only if those songs have chords, like blink 182’s carousel or something like that.
This was an emotional one to do, with personal meaning. Because of that, I didn’t feel right miming, so I sang on this video. I’m not a good singer, but it is what it is.
