Overall nicely played.
Is this via a phone or is the mix off?
Damn @Ed
Funkiness abounds.
Great great job man.
As much as I wanna like Vinnie, I mostly don’t, but this bassline is great and you played it great. Well done @JustinAndSheba
Wow great playing here.
The clacking makes me think there is a setup issue though.
Is it from the strings hitting the pickups? If so they may be too high.
This was great!
Loved it man!
OK, now this version I like.
Bass still a bit in the mix but tone was grand!
Nice tone.
Your timing is a bit off though.
This calls for laying way way way back on the beat and you are quite out in front of it.
Blues is almost always laid back behind the beat.
You are doing great, just get more comfortable with the song before recording so you can focus on feel vs. which notes are next.
You will get there, better every post, keep it up!
WOW
Loved this, great job.
Liked the other one, like this one, lol.
We are our worst critics.
Thank you for the great comments on both of my videos, very much appreciated!!
Thanks John! You know how sometimes after finally getting a cover down you’re sick of song? Not this time, lots of fun.
BTW great to hear you’re back in action!
Nice Mad… That space you’re leaving in that groove is amazing
Cream is probably my favorite Band…well done Johnny…to pick or not to pick that s the question?
I was wondering if this was pretty common. I have covered some songs that I just can’t listen to anymore after hearing them dozens of times in a row.
Thanks John!
Thank you buddy I appreciate that!
Yea John - with Slow Tempos and 1/4 notes it easy to think ahead and not in the moment
I haven’t been doing any covers because I’ve been busy learning songs for our weekly jam night.
But @Glenn asked very nicely in another thread about the pickup swap (I dropped in a DiMarzio DP126 P&J) I just did on my little project bass (as he has the same bass). This is one of the songs on our set list. So here it is @Glenn a genuine one take (you get what you get), bass into the SGT pre amp then DAI. No post processing. Just super simple to give you an idea.
EDIT: The original recording is not in tune. So if you fancy playing along to this, then set your tuner to 431Hz and you’ll sound right ![]()
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Down On The Corner
I started playing Bass in Nov 2020. Moises.ai app to remove the original bass line and overdub mine.
Signal Chain:
Origin Effects Cali 76
HX One
Ampeg SGT-DI
DAI - Focusrite Scarlett Solo
Ibanez TMB30 Short Scale
GHS Brite Flats
a CCR song is always a joy to me.
Also I really love what you did with your Ibanez. To be honest I don’t like very much the black hardware but otherwise this bass is very very cool.
And also you became a totally legit bass player in 3 years. How cool is that ? ![]()
Thank you sir
