You must be Superman, er, Superdad haha wow I’m really impressed brother.
Queensryche is one of my favorite bands, well the Tate and Degarmo era of course!!
That’s the era I seen them in… mindblowing show!
They had a string of killer albums. Empire, Rage For Order and Operation Mindcrime are phenomenal!
I saw Empire / Mindcrime together at the same show … as soon as they were done with Empire… they went full tilt into Mindcrime!!
CRAZY good, I was front row for that madness!
Well folks, this is super embarrassing. Been working on this for 2 straight weeks. After spending about 4 hours tonight recording in reaper, processing, then recording and synching a video and uploading to youtube, I realize that I am playing the main riff wrong by adding in an extra 16th note…FUUUUUUG. Well, I am not a professional and its bedtime so this is what you get.
On another note, this song was one of the most difficult for me to find a correct transcription because the band recorded this about 4 different times at different lengths and I think they did the thing with the old masters where they sped it up, which slightly pitch shifted it…anyways, the different tabs and notations have things that are a half-step off each other. I picked and chose what I thought sounded best given the key its in.
Without further ado, I give you my version of The Specials: Ghost Town. Hopefully it doesn’t suck too much. Sorry for the camera, that sucks as well. Actually, probably best if you don’t watch it. I should just give up.
That was awesome!! Funky!
Thanks. Not where I want it, but I had to throw in the towel.
It’s great!
8th bar of main rif on c-g is supossed to be an eighth on C and 6 16th notes on G…I erroneously play it as s 16th on C and then 7 16ths on G.
I think you are being very hard on yourself. Clearly, there is a school of thought that goes along the line of ‘I have to create an absolute facsimile of the original…’ An alternative is that we create a version of the baseline that works with the song and sounds great. I’d suggest that no one in an audience - virtual or live - would be sitting there thinking, “ah, the 8th bar of main riff on c-g is supposed to be…”
We can be our own worst critics! Your playing was great!
Indeed … without anything being said… I wouldn’t have even known… it was a stellar performance
Well thanks man. I put a lot of work into it.
I agree completely with him, great ska bass.
Oh forgot to mention, that’s a great hat too.
Got it in Scotland 15 years ago! My favorite hat.
So not technically a “cover” perse … but I wanted to test OBS, and my audio interface to see if its working…
This is me doing a learning session to another YouTube vid (you hear him at the beginning of the vid)
I do have a Bassless track of this… I will prolly do a proper cover when I think I am good to go.
A couple flubs… but it’s a fun tune
Feel Good Inc. - The Gorillaz
Nice groove!
Great song choice and great playing @Old_WannaBe - love it
As soon as the song started all I could think of was these guys…
You did a great job on this song! Really well done.
Awesome movie. Also that screenshot is very similar to the music video for the song.
