Post your covers! (2024)

Thank you! That was, indeed, my jazz Aerodyne. I have been loving it!

Went to the studio with my brother and a friend yesterday. It was tons of fun despite issues getting a decent recording. This was our attempt at “Wave of Mutilation” by Pixies!

Love it!!

Not being critical here… I would have liked to hear the vocals a bit clearer… :stuck_out_tongue: Would have been nice… I know when you are recording raw though, you get what you get.

Awesome job

Thank you! Yeah, we were disappointed with that. Might’ve been cheap mics? The levels sounded good but when we started playing, the mic volume dropped sharply.

Ya … recording a room that is a common thing… once the guitars, and especially the drums get into the sound… vocals go bye bye. :stuck_out_tongue: I wanted to hear the drummer singin! :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: a solution to this is a cheap 4 or 6 ch. mixer … and a couple hot mics reading the room, one on the bass cab, one near the kit. and the 2 vocal mics into the mix as well… then you can take audio right from the mixer

+1 for mixer, if you plan to play together you’ll want one eventually. However I would recommend 8+ch.

Absolutely … more channels = MOAR better! … you can fully mic the kit, and isolate the levels. You can turn down the solo maniac guitar player … and bring up the BASS!!

Also just run all the instruments in to the mixer, buy a couple powered PA speakers, and everyone can sell their amps

For a bass player on stage… your cab acts as a backup for the floor monitors when you get a bad mix… at least you can hear yourself  Bass always need the amp :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: I would D/I from my amp → P/A then to house. I had 2 zones where I could hear clearly

Yeah, our bass player and guitarist kept their amps for our gigs, while I went right in to the mixer, as did the mics. Then again I was also running the mixer too.

You can’t have too much Pixies, especially from Doolittle.

Awesome one dude, I really love that Warwick. I can’t believe I haven’t done a Pixies song yet. I might have to look and see how bad Gigantic is to play just to be different. Because there’s no such thing as too much Pixies. Or bacon.
