Thank you dlamson!

Thank you @faydout mostly everything I learned is from here with the inspiration of all the covers here and the lessons of the b2b course!

Thanks @John_E some of these songs I pick are because I like them or are deliberate for techniques or both but I like playing high energy songs to get comfortable with a pick and also I have a few song goals for the end of the year that use these skills. One of my end of the year song goals is Paranoid Android by Radiohead as far as picking goes

It shows. I love that deep rich tone. Imma steal it, :joy:. My next few covers I’ll lift my “center detent” setup and try to tone match the song.

Thanks Al. Looking forward to hearing it.

It’s simply amazing how many covers you all produce. I’ve been quite busy lately – a new band, a lot of songs to learn, and plenty to do at work. So, I haven’t been here for a while, but you all make fantastic covers. It’s great to see more animals included and even hired videomakers! I hope to continue the 50 songs challenge soon and upload some other covers as well. Have a great weekend!

You ain’t kidding. I’m glad that at least there’s somewhere to post those videos rather than just having to scrap them after all the work of learning and filming it.

Right on. I hate having to use these other hosts because it doesn’t help my YouTube channel whatsoever, but it’s better than dumping the video altogether.

Yeah, the previous record (year 2023 : 362 covers) will most certainly be crushed this year. Again.

My daughter’s rates are quite reasonable, she’s been hired to shoot two more for me this afternoon :sunglasses:

The last posting from the Sonics rabbit hole!

The Sonics - He’s Waiting

Once again, I had to pay my daughter to overcome her embarrassment at what her father was asking her to do!

You know the drill, the Steinberger, direct into GarageBand, via a Scarlett Solo. In GarageBand, I utilised the Classic Amp simulation, plus a bit of compression and overdrive to get the gritty, live tone I wanted. The bass track was played three times :metal:

BTW, I really appreciate the views of the video and the comments, as does my daughter :+1:

Well played and excellent camera work. I like the creativity with the filters and dynamic filming. I hope none of your daughter’s classmates were around. That’d be rough Monday. Ha ha. Also, thanks for the rundown on Dingwalls. I actually first looked them up after watching you play yours in one of your other videos so it’s cool to hear your thoughts on the instrument. I appreciate you taking time to share your insight. Cheers and keep up the solid playing.

Thanks @Jacob! My daughter appreciates the comments on her videos - I read them to her and she loves it. Fortunately, these videos were shot nowhere near her school - we were at the coast for an Easter break. Unfortunately, my wife won’t let us move there, despite me keep dragging us round the estate agents! :joy:

Regarding Dingwall basses, they really are as good as the hype, and certainly worth having a go on one, if you can. Yes, they are expensive - although, if you hunt around, you can get them on the second hand market for a slightly less eyewatering price (for reference, I’m UK based), if you’re patient and lucky.

That said, I play the Steinberger as much as the Dingwall due to its small size, portability and, frankly, its great feel and tone. And the Steinberger is a fraction of the price of the Dingwall.

Thank you, @JerryP!

Mine drives a hard bargain @Al1885, although yesterday, I got a volume discount as we shot two in one session

Much appreciated, @g13dip! Given that I’m just recording into GarageBand on an iPhone, I’m pretty impressed with the amp sims available and the ability to manipulate tone, in what is a free app bundled with a phone!
