sorry for your loss @sunDOG
For the songs I really want to learn in the long term, I couldn’t avoid learning scales forever. This was so hard to get clean during the mini bass solo and going up the neck but I think it turned out pretty well!
Dance Gavin Dance - Strawberry Swisher, Pt. 2
Well done. I’m starting to try to play up and down the neck a bit more now too. It’s fun bouncing around hitting notes. Good finger work. Also, good tone.
Mark at Talking Bass has some exercises on his YT channel to help with horizontal movement across the fretboard. I’ve been doing those as part of my 10 minute warm up (it’s become 15 minutes) before I really start to play.
BONNIE TYLER - TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART https://youtu.be/7DdR-HdJiQc?si=uqoCEnaRydVHdh0f. So I had all intentions to do this cover since we had the eclipse this past week, and I did, but I do however need to apologize about the sound. Every week it’s hit or miss with what I have to work with currently. Anyway, my contribution to the thread for this week. Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching.
I like his videos too. I can’t remember if it’s him or another guy but I wrote down one of their exercises and I incorporate it into a pre-routine too. I’m a beginner so it’s a low bar but it’s paying dividends for me. I’ve seen consistent progress since I’ve started. You can’t have any bass pudding until you eat your bass meat, son. Ha ha.
Here’s my take on SRV Crossfire.
This song is an exercise in repetition! Holy man! That little phrase in the middle, that was my downfall. I played it over and over before recording and still messed it up. I hope you enjoy and I look forward to your input!
Great job! @groaner sounded awesome to me!
Wife loves this tune as do i, great job! @TheMadBassist
Nice job @BumbleJazz !
Thanks Glenn! It really is a workout.
Thanks buddy! I’m digging up a lot of the old 80’s stuff. That’s where my heart lies tbh! Love that music
Ozzy Osbourne - Bark At The Moon
Hopefully this works^^
Having some rapid learning in how to host stuff on the web.
Back to bass after a long lay off, shows a bit in the playing. I hope to be better soon!!
Anyway, some classic Ozzy, I was about 15 when this came out!!
Sandberg VS4 with new DR Pure Blues > Markbass Compressore > Phil Jones Big Head V1 > Audacity.
I’ve mixed the bass a bit more in the foreground than perhaps it should be …but we’re bass players right ? !!!
I missed the very beginning of the song cos I can’t figure how to make Audacity count in!
Comments good bad indifferent welcome!!
Too many slides—yes I know lol!!
Peace
//K
very cool @Kurt !
For your next covers, may I ask you to please write clearly the artist and the name of the song in your post, like : “Artist - Name of the song” when you release a cover ? It helps me a lot because I’m keeping a listing of all covers year after year. thanks !
Source Audio C4 Synth pedal with an '80s bass synth patch downloaded from the cloud of patches people figure out for me, lol.
Love it - the playing and the song.
Great job @terb
Fantasticaly @BillBass !!
Love the tone and the playing, spot on!
Extra props for Mr. Bill in the background.
I completely forgot I was listening to a Buzzer here.
Got distracted and came back to my PC to see what music I put on and why.
This was seemlessssssss @cheeze_pizza
Sounds like you are overdriving your DAI input in this one, which is a shame because when you are not your tone is great great great great.
Really nice job on this one, good groove overall (few blips here and there and a couple times you came in a whisker early) however really enjoyed this.
