Just great, as usual.
First bar had me hooked @BumbleJazz !!
Love it.
I was wondering why no one did this tune!
Your playing is great as always.
Your sound - you know.
@Kurt - this is GREAT! (and a great song to boot).
Overall fantastic - great tone, nice mix, and great playing.
There were a few bits in the beginning where you were dragging slightly vs. driving the tune forward with the rest of the instruments, but then you locked in really nicely.
Excellent man!
You know me, the gears are always turning haha and if you didn’t, now you do! Man I really appreciate the comps, and the sound, I know!
My regular contributions may be coming to halt soon, I’ve now found my way into a band. I have around 8 or 9 songs to learn as future shows are on the horizon, so I’m not gonna have as much time to spend on covers. This is kind of a huge thing for me, and I gotta make sure and get them down right. I’ll still post but it may be bi weekly or maybe even every three weeks. Not sure until I get this going so. I’m not leaving totally, just taking a step back from my weekly postings. I really appreciate everyone that has, and will continue, to check my videos out. You guys rock! I’m glad to be a part of this great forum of bassists!
Ha! Thanks John!
Awesome, congrats man!
Thank you @John_E solid advice here. I tried a different setup for recording with the smartphone but I need to tweak it… And of course I should practice more
Thanks a lot!! Yeah I could hear that at the start of the song but I didn’t feel it when I was playing it. I think I relaxed and forgot I was Recording once I got into it. I’ve only really been playing for a few weeks after about 10 years off, so not too bad I think! Recording yourself and playing back is a great way to self assess!
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for taking the time to comment
Peace

Sorry about your friend, really! I know how it feels, and this cover is surely a great tribute to him!
Thanks amigo!!
Thanks John!!! Glad you enjoyed it.
Very well done Justin!
That’s great @JustinAndSheba !
Dude I have absolutely no clue what this Bach piece is supposed to sound like, but that was pretty friggin sweet! I could hear your mistakes but honestly in a piece like this I think you did the right thing by just playing it through. Quite the finger twister! Definitely not something I would ever aspire to play but I can appreciate the dedication and struggle to learn something exceptionally difficult. Well done!
So many more covers to get through and hopefully a new on from me tonight (if I can figure out wtf is wrong with my A string)
The Doors. LA Woman Bass Cover. Played on a Fender Jazz Junior short scale bass I had shipped from Japan last year. Just sold it recently to help buy my new Fender Precision American Professional 2. Kind of missing this bass but a short scale was just not for me. So easy to play though! Probably should have kept it!
Thank you @Ant !
I don’t really know what possessed me to try to learn it, but it was grueling, like training for an ironman or something. But I’m glad I learned it even if my family is sick of hearing it.
Love the retro vibe to the song and it sounds great @terb
That’s a fun chorus bass lines. good job @BillBass
