Sometimes you just need to take things right back, in this case, to 1956! I’ve also been a bit stressed over the past couple of weeks (work and sh!t), so need simple, and there’s not much simpler than a 12-bar in C.
Bass backed off in the mix, I was trying to emulate the original 50s recording, where the bass isn’t trying to dominate things. I also noted that in the original, the bass is quite staccato, and just three notes per bar, so this is what I played … mostly. Oh, I also thought the Squier CV 50s P was appropriate 
. Even my thumb rest on the bass is vintage correct … I have stuck a Bic biro outer casing to it, and Bic biros were actually released in 1950
