Thank you Andrea!
Very smooth, Jerry! Enjoyed that arrangement.
Rockin’ version, Andrea! Well played!
Thank you John ![]()
Been awhile since I posted here…. Still dealing with things but did manage to put together another cover. Loaded it to YouTube yesterday and thought I probably wouldn’t post here but… after some soul searching, decided to post it anyway…… “The Blessing” by Christian musician John Waller….
Keep On Thumpin’!
Lanny
Sounded great, Lanny! Very smooth playing. Beautiful song. I like the video editing…that turned out really cool. Thank you for sharing that one.
Emmylou Harris - Save the Last Dance for Me
From the 1979 album Blue Kentucky Girl.
Nice playing, @Lanny ! I see you and that new bass are getting along!
Nice one @BackcountryBassist ! Great song, and I especially love your chops starting around 3:19 or so!
Thanks John!! One of my favorite songs. It was a great song to break the fretless in with.
Lovin’ that Lakland fretless fiver!! So easy to play that it almost plays itself!!![]()

Well, it’s been quite a while since my last post - I’ve been working almost 7 days a week for the last few months, split between my regular job as well as working on the new restaurant. Haven’t really had much time to play, but this song sounded easy, and it was. After I learned it I watched a live version and realized the chorus riff is always played above the 7th fret but I think it sounds better in the lower register anyway.
Funny story about this band actually - the original guitarist is technically my Uncle…turns out my aunt was somewhat of a groupie in the 70’s and slept with Roger Fisher
I’ve never met him but my cousin tells me he’s a pretty chill guy.
Didn’t have time to write the tabs this time…anyways, back to work!
Heart - Crazy On You
@Lanny Great job there, it’s a good song. I hadn’t noticed you’d got a new bass when I watched it on YT, congrats ![]()
@BackcountryBassist It’s a lovely song, is that the original? I know I’ve heard other versions of it. Top job anyway.
@Ant I love stories like this, you can imagine them following the band everywhere. Hope everything is going well with the restaurant.
Well played on the cover, I like a bit of Heart
@BackcountryBassist - That was really nice! Very well done.
@Ant - Good to have you back. One of my favorite Heart songs. Great job!
Well played, Andrea! I like this version!
Super-mellow, @JerryP! Love it!!
Well played, @Lanny. I have no faith, but can appreciate you keeping the low end tight on this one!
Very cool, @BackcountryBassist! Now, how about some hardcore metal? ![]()
Sounds good, @Ant. Love the story too!
Iggy Pop - The Passenger
This is an easy line to play, making it a song where you can simply get lost (in a good way) in the groove!
Dingwall Combustion into the Hotone Ampero, then on into GarageBand
The video is a home to work car journey, shot on an iPhone, Blu Tacked to the dashboard!
I am sure you’re aware as it’s one of the best covers of all time, but just in case, consider doing this one too ![]()
I really like this version, @howard!!
It is no joke one of those, like Bauhaus’ cover of Ziggy Stardust or Johnny Cash’s cover of Hurt, where the original artist pays respects and congratulates the band. Iggy even said this version was better than his.
Or this one
It’s “different”, but nil points…
I think their cover of Dear Prudence is even better than Passenger. Both outstanding though.
