Great job Andrea! The new strings look killer on the bass

Rockin’ tune…well done! Smart choice to fade out rather than enter into that wall of…sound?

Well done, Andrea! Very cool how you transition from synth to bass guitar.

Niiice, Jerry! Linda’s voice…:exploding_head:

Hello. The past 2 weeks I decided to chill out and learn some “calmer” songs before I start ramping up again and the pendulum swings the other way lol (well the last song I learned already did but I won’t share that here ). This was pretty fun and I thought it was going to be easy… until the very last bass fill stunted my progress for a week and a half :upside_down_face: but I did end up getting it! This came out a few months ago and I think it’s one of my favorite songs of 2025 so far.

Queen - Another One Bites The Dust

At some point, every bass player needs to play the iconic three on the E!

While I have never really considered the lyric before - it seems to be about mob hits - for me, the phrase ‘another one bites the dust’ serves as a reminder that we come this way but once. We are star dust, the product of the Big Bang and supernova. For a brief moment, we get to see, hear touch, taste and feel. Then we too ‘bite the dust’. So go on, do and do something today that the future you would be proud of!!

Finally let GAS get the better of me and acquired an Ibanez SR500 sigh #NoRagrets
I’ve been working on a cover of another Tool song, which unfortunately has just about sucked my soul dry, as it’s been quite an effort, feeling as though I’m “go[ing] round, one foot nailed down” (that’s a reference/teaser)
So the other night while I was at work, around 1AM, I decided to try something vastly different and far more “fun”… I’d been practicing this tune for about a week or so, and managed to come up with this vid after only 2-3 takes; it’s not PERFECT, the notion of which I’m letting go of, and I suppose given the generally dry/sarcastic nature of the group, “imperfect” fits the bill and serves as a nice opposition to the Tool track I’ve been working on. So, anyway… “I Will Survive” as covered by Cake. Check er out!

Great job! This is one that I play as a speed workout at the end of almost every practice. I still have a ways to go.

Josh has a great video that breaks up the sections. It helped me figure out the patterns pretty well.

Well done @AndreaJayne. When you say you bought a blacklight for the neon strings, what? Literally?

Well done, @JerryP, very mellow! But, why are you standing at the bottom of the stairs?!

Freak me, that’s calm?! Great playing!!

I actually quite like this! Great playing, @Vader!

That’s a pretty complicated line, well done for having a go, @BassyBunch!! :metal:

Well done @AndreaJayne! Great tone!
