Post your covers! (2025)

I just use iMovie that’s free with my Mac. I have a rudimentary understanding of it. I’m probably using about 0.3% of its capability.

That was crazy cool … and crazily well played… I have seen versions of this mashup before done by other people … neat how well they go together right?

Great job!!

Pearl Jam - Dissident

I haven’t done a fretless cover since stealing @TheMadBassist 's P-Bass, so I’m way overdue. Jeff Ament is one of my favorite players, I love how he was this punk rock guy who got into Jaco and Pino and then decided to play fretless on a bunch of rock songs and did his own thing.

Duuuude…that was great. You’re getting a nice fat tone. Haven’t heard that song in a while. I enjoyed your fills and those high notes 3/4 of the way through. Really cool cover…well done!

YES! That song demanded the shades. That sounded great! You’re kickin’ butt on the 50 cover challenge.

“Strings killed with makeup removal (very dense sponges)”…LOL! I haven’t done anything with my strings in the year I’ve had this bass…I thought Jamerson loved really old strings, so that was good enough for me.

This helps get that muted tone… without having to palm mute

Cool thing about these sponges… they are exactly good for 1 string… so you can pick and choose

Thanks for sharing that pic…so much crazy stuff to learn…learning bass is like following the white rabbit down the rabbit hole…

If you want to try sponges for muting I HIGHLY recommend makeup removal triangle sponges… they are the consistency of memory foam… they kill a string nice… but still allow enough note out to sound good

And glad you found the pic useful  Glad to help… I’m still a n00b too man

I’m a big 2010s progressive metal/“djent” fan. I loved the sound and thought it sounded neat. I like the 5 string more than 4 because it’s more comfortable and I wanted to play songs like that. But I’m realizing I have way more options playing things I want to that were made on a 4 string or even drop tunings so I’m taking my time getting down there to Drop A/Drop G# because when I get down that low I’m not coming back up for a long time unless I get another 5 string lol

Does that mean we’re gonna get some Loathe and Sleep Token covers from you?
