Post your covers! (2025)

I can’t get enough of this album at the moment, might have to learn a few more before moving on. I really like how STP takes dark subject matter and makes it sound uplifting. Cool country vibe to this one. Hope the mix is OK, it sounds pretty good in my headphones :man_shrugging:

It helps train your algorithm too. I’ve beat my algorithm to shit trying to find the bottom of YouTube lol, it’s a lot of work though. Like, subscribe, comment, and also sharing helps, as well as choosing “not interested” and “do not recommend this channel” for stuff you don’t want. It’s constant work though. Like God forbid you watch a single fucking basketball game on YouTube because the algorithm will assume you’re a mega sport fan now now and start blasting with it. Or if you listen to too many pop songs in a row, YouTube assumes that you’re 14-year-old girl and starts recommending videos based on that.

That’s how you get your algorithm to show you the really weird shit, and it’s just hilarious to me. YouTube gives normal people bad ideas. Like this:

Now why would you film yourself sitting on the toilet to advertise your welding school for ten views? We may never know :joy::joy::joy:

Short 25 second cover of the opening of Chainsaw Man’s OP Kick Back by Kenshi Yonezu. I know I should be focusing on other things at my level but after getting a hang of slapping it’s so addicting. I’ve been trying to learn it for the past week, my playing could defo be a lot better and the blister was definitely worth it hahahaha.

All very true, and hilarious :joy: I like a good crime documentary every now and then, but YT thinks I’m Sherlock Holmes if I watch one, and floods me with case after case to watch. Sheesh it is borderline ridiculous!!!

So on Monday I posted the video cover of Bad Moon Rising. By Wednesday I had received 28 views. I took the video down and decided to repost it this morning (Friday) at 9:15ish am. Same video, same thumbnail cover, didn’t repost in the forum. Just dropped it to see what would happen. It is now 10:40 pm, and as of right now the same video has received 272 views. This reinforces my thought that Friday is the optimum day for me to drop videos on YT. I will however try one tomorrow evening, as another experiment to see what happens on a Saturday. Duncan mentioned that day as a good one for him, so I’ll give it a shot to see how it turns out.

Thank you, @beaurapp! The tone was a combination of the what is was generating through the Ampero, plus some post processing in GarageBand.

Thank you, Travis!

Thank you, @JohnF! I really enjoy playing this song. It’s a shame that my band’s guitarist has a mental block on Queen :slightly_frowning_face:

Well played, @Ant. Not really a band I know, may have to check ‘em out!

It’s only a good day if you like like and comment on the video, both here and in YouTube!

My Saturday video is up… :sign_of_the_horns:

The Beatles - Get Back bass improvisation

We are having a go at this song in the band so I thought better learnt it . I’m not playing exactly what Sir Paul played, but I’m improvising around the basic structure of the song.

I also hope I’m not dinged on YouTube for posting a Beatle cover…!!

Dingwall Combustion (with foam under the strings at the bridge) into GarageBand via my Ampero.

Really nice playing…I’m enjoying these STP songs as I haven’t heard this album in ages. That song has a cool chorus as do a few other songs on that album. Keep ‘em coming!

Nice job with the improv’d bass line…sounds great! Have fun playing this live!

Emmylou Harris (duet with John Anderson) - Just Someone I Used to Know

From Emmylou’s 1986 album titled Thirteen. Written by Jack Clement and originally recorded by George Jones in 1964 using the song name “A Girl I Used to Know”. Jones recorded the song again in 1970 with his wife Tammy Wynette using the song name “Someone I Used to Know”.

Nice one, Travis! Great job on those slides around 2:30 and the one a little after that. Never heard this song or band before.

Thanks John! Recently ran across this song. I knew the band but wasn’t familiar with the tune. Thought it sounded pretty cool! The slides were the best part of the song to learn haha
