The Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve)
I really like playing this song, despite the fact that I have to play it using a pick, I simply cannot play the fills finger-style!
It’s on our list of songs to learn for the band, although so far, we have only had a go at it once as our drummer is struggling with that rather full-on drum part!
Oh, I also love the story behind the song.
Dingwall Combustion into GarageBand via my Ampero.
Surprise! Another +44 cover! It has a phaser effect, but I don’t have a pedal and I’m a rookie, so I tried to compensate with palm mute technique. I hope that it succeeded and you will like it!
Agreed! I love Rush and never realized how complex the bass lines were until picking up the bass. Gonna be rad though, being 85 and playing Tom Sawyer in the nursing home
This was a fun one - and the first time I’ve gone from not knowing a song to playing it competently within 24 hours. Just started learning it last night. I could quibble over a couple of mistakes but I won’t. I’m happy with this.
Come Down Practice
Absolutely love Anderson .Paak, and all his live stuff with The Free Nationals, been practicing the Tiny Desk rendition of Come down, it’s not perfect yet, but getting there
Nice job! I think we may have the same bass (but mine is black).
You should definitely be happy with the end product for knocking that out in 24 hours. Sounds great! Yeah, looks like a fun one to play…especially that part when it gets to that G on the tenth.
The Invertants - Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve) (The Buzzcocks)
Hot on the heals of my bass cover of this song, here is a full cover of the song from last night’s band rehearsal. Recorded straight onto my iPhone - bass too loud, vocals and guitar too low and no drummer in shot.
Despite the less than perfect nature of the recording, we are now pretty much on top of the song!
From Emmylou’s 1980 bluegrass album Roses in the Snow. The White family (Buck, Cheryl, and Sharon) sang harmony vocals, Albert Lee played the mandolin and Tony Rice was on the acoustic guitar for this version. Song was of course written by Paul Simon and recorded by Simon & Garfunkel on the 1970 album Bridge Over Troubled Water.
