Post your covers! (2025)

It doesn’t look that hard… but it took 4 days to get so I could play 161 bars of octaves at full speed! LMAO!!

And Thanks!!

On a job site years ago when Rush popped up on the radio (20% Canadian content rules I guess?:man_shrugging:)

My buddy said “Ahh Rush, only one lead singer away from being a really great band”

That throwaway comment still makes me laugh whenever I hear the first few bars of Spirit of Radio.

N.B. I don’t mind listening to a bit of Rush. Just don’t ask me to play the bass lines

New Divide - Linkin Park
This is the one I intended to do first, before I did Breaking The Habit.
I won’t be keeping up this pace

Sounds great! Those downstroke chuggers are a workout!

Another simple, fun one from our set list. When our drummer (semi pro musician) joined the band. He said to me “I’d just like you to focus on two things. Stay in time and have fun”

Sound advice.

Thorogood is always a safe bet on a set list  Great job!

I think that goes for a lot of us… LOL Geddy works some crazy magic that I have no business trying just yet. ( maybe one day )

Mission accomplished - you stayed in time and looked like you were having a lot of fun. And you answered the age old question of what to do on video before the bass line kicks in (lip sync). Nice video editing…and my goodness…Audrey Hepburn.

Down by the River - Neil Young & Crazy Horse

Just felt out the bass line in the 2 guitar solos to weave in the subtle variations.

Gonna try this: got a 100% copywrite strike on YouTube for this one.

[Highway to Hell - AC/DC - 50 Song Challenge]

Not sure if it will work … Song #5 of the 50 song challenge.

Highway to Hell - AC/DC

Edit: so this one was a large pain in my ass. Struck on YT sucked huge. But before that was the WONKY tuning… so for those who want to do this challenge. The song is tuned down 1/4 step. Ya… 1/4 … WTAF? LOL

So, Canada is lacking in diversity? Why aren’t Triumph and The Guess Who Canadian religions, as well? :guitar: :+1:

I met and interviewed The Tragically Hip in about 1991. Nice guys. I barely remember it though as they weren’t as huge at the time and I wasn’t super serious about my job, mostly using it as a way to get in to shows for free

Meanwhile, many of my favorite bands at the time (and now) are Canadian, mostly on Nettwerk back then. Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Moev, Sarah McClachlan (before she went pop she was great!), etc etc.

That is so awesome … The Hip are LEGENDS here  The CBC aired their last live show nation wide… it literally was our last respects to Gord. ( brain cancer sucks… He kinda was our Freddie… lost too soon :frowning: )

Would have been super cool to meet them, glad you got to!

Edit: They interrupted THE OLYMPICS to air that concert :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah in retrospect I wish I had been more tuned in to where they were headed. They still got a great review from me though. And like I said, they were like the nicest guys ever, totally humble and approachable.
