Oh I love me some hayseed rock!
Excellent work as ever @JustinAndSheba and that bass has some serious bottom end, May I say your friend there is exceptionally well behaved, Does she roadie for you or generally help out at gigs?

Hey @faydout - nice cover! I was admittedly on the other side during the great Oasis - Blur wars of the 90s but I can appreciate a good cover
My bass cover of the Kesha song Your Love is My Drug…no bass guitar in the original so I pulled down the synth bass and added my own line…still working on the tone of my new bass and spent a little extra time mixing this in Logic too to try to get a really nice bumping electro pop mix for this
Using my Stonefield F Bass through my pedals and recorded into Logic (synced up audio and video in imovie)
Ke$ha - Your Love is My Drug
Been there before … by default OBS has a noise suppressor that is default enabled… and it was cutting out my bass as “noise” LOL…
I didn’t listen to much Blur to be honest… but I like this tune, and great job playin it!
K… that is super cool… and it worked out really well! It fit into the song really well! Great job!
Mayz’ll drop this here
My stab at Song #21 of the 50 song challenge :
Higher and Higher - Jackie Wilson
@faydout - Not familiar with the song, but great job on the playing! BB sounds awesome.
@g13dip - That was fun to listen to. Very well done!
@Buzzin_Canada-John - Ah, my old AM radio days! Good work on this John!
Nice performances everyone!
Two versions on my YTube, as I changed to new strings and did this version with the new hybrid cobalts.
Song 2- 50 songs challenge- Bad Moon Rising - C.C.Revival
Thanks Ed! Nah… she doesn’t move much equipment. She’s more of a management type…lol.
Can’t beat a good ol’ Jamerson line. Great job, man!!
Nice one, Andrea! Classic tune and these strings cut through nicely!
@JustinAndSheba @faydout @g13dip @Buzzin_Canada-John
All fantastic covers, well done guys. A good bit of genre diversity too
Cool!! I’ve heard this version of the song but I didn’t know who performed it until now. Great work.
Hah! Careful though - I hear parrots have very large bills
Nice one Justin. Love hearing a little B string bottom!! Never tried a sixer before. Right now a fiver is about as many bass strings I can deal with…. Funny how the bass line for that song is mostly hidden in the mix. Might have to give this one a try one of these days.
Happens to us all. Although I’m not familiar with the group or the song, you managed to play it all quite well. Your tome matched the mood of the song nicely. Great job!
Great job!! Removing synth lines and adding bass lines is a good exercise. Not familiar with the song, but your bass line fit in nicely and your tone seemed to work rather well.
You sure know how to age a person here John!! Nice job fillin’ in for Jamerson with the Funk Brothers!
Great job Andrea!
Giving me flashbacks Andrea…. I remember wearing out a few cassette tapes of the Green River album during my first deployment. CCR’s “Swamp Rock” style of play helped make things a bit more tolerable back then…
Thanks Jerry!
Lol!! Ya I remember AM radio too ( and TV antenna’s too before everything went digital )
It’s a workout too! The pace is real! LOL Thanks Justin!
Thanks Andrea!
Deloris was supposed to have done the vocals on this version… sadly she was found dead the day they were supposed to record it I’d recommend watching the YT vid of this track. Thanks again Justin
I’m crusty as all get out… LOL! Thanks!! Its a fun one… and a workout at the same time!
