Attaboy, keep the Christmas spirit alive year round haha
Love it dude. Great job
Never heard this song. Cool tune bro and great job!!
Teddy Swims - The Door
Keeping it simple with this one. Very repetitive i-VI-VII-v in G#m.
Thanks man ! It’s great to play a track like this now and again to blow the cobwebs out
The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army “bass” cover
Travelling again, this time by air, so I’ve taken my Hofner Shortie with me, plus the Zoom B1four pedal and a Scarlett Solo. Take the neck off the bass and it fits in a suitcase!
For this cover, I decided to play up the neck, but use the octaver setting on the Zoom to get the bass note I wanted, after all the original “bass” part was famously played on a guitar, using an octaver. While the bass isn’t the greatest, I think it actually sounds ok and the zoom tracked the notes pretty well.
Comments, as ever, most welcome!
Hofner Shortie, through the Zoom B1four, then into the Scarlett Solo, then on into GarageBand.
Great job!! Most times “Simple” can be best…. Timing, Attack, and Tone were spot on…
They used to play the video on MTV on Headbangers Ball once in a while. The singer ended up joining RATT at one point and now he’s the vocalist in Quiet Riot.
Thanks… I doubt that too many people even remember them anymore.
Ah gotcha!!
Great job fennario!
Very well done Duncan! I can appreciate the effort playing/recording in a hotel room.
Cool bass line…sounded very smooth with a nice tone. Well done!
The Hotel Room Sessions continue…you should just bring an amp with you and set up shop in the lobby. True dedication brnging your gear on business trips. Nice job!
Duncan, the traveling busker!!! Open the case and watch the dimes drop in!!
Nice job there bud! Cant go wrong with the stripes
- How are false teeth like stars?
They come out at night………Just a little something to make you smile on a Wednesday!
Not my cover… but my kid has been having a gander at RS…
I have a few more… this is only a snippet.
Trying to see where she wants to go after the Piano.
Bass or Guitar?
Singing is a must.
It’s not actually that onerous, @JerryP. The bass fits quite nicely in a standard sized suitcase, providing it’s been deconstructed. And to be honest, chucking in a Zoom pedal and an interface in, isn’t that much bother. What it does mean is that I’m travelling with a large suitcase, rather than a carry-on, which obviously means waiting at the baggage reclaim…
I think they would throw me out of the hotel, @JohnF
One way of feeding the bass buying habit, Travis
brother, hey do what ya gotta do to make that green!!
But do it smart! A mime with silver clothing and makeup would set up “shop” in the middle of Bourbon St. in New Orleans standing motionless with his tip box at his feet. Put in a tip and he’d give you a short performance. I never once saw him move. His mistake was putting his seed money in the box in one neat stack of $1 bills. Passers-by could see that no one had added a tip, so they just kept going. Knucklehead.
