Post your covers! (2025)

:joy:

I think your phone’s been smoking the sticky icky dude. I got no clue how Duncan’s thumbnail got attached to my vid but it’s definitely playing mine when I hit play.

What happened to John from Canada? I see he hasn’t posted anything or commented in days. That’s highly unusual

I was thinking the same thing…Not quite landscaping season in Canada, but maybe he got busy with the last snow removal of the season. I just shot a message to him on the YT channel to check in.

Heard back from John from Canada…he is doing well…just got side tracked for a minute. He will be back…no need for you to go to his apartment to feed his cat, Travis!

Hey gang…
I’m on the road for a while so I’m doing some simple tunes since I don’t have as much time as I do when I’m home. This probably isn’t the hippest song on this thread, but I like it. So here’s another selection from Old Fart Radio.

Glen Campbell - Gentle On My Mind

Please enjoy and thanks for watching.

Great tune, Jerry! Well played! That looks like a nice way to spend time outside on the balcony playing that chill song. The singer that I cover alot on here, Hope Sandoval (solo with her band The Warm Inventions and also with Mazzy Star) was on Campbell’s posthumous duets album last year doing “The Long Walk Home” and it is a touching version.

Thanks John!

That was a really mellow cover @JerryP - perfect for the day I had! Don’t worry - my dial is always set to Old Fart Radio

That is a gorgeous view outside your place btw

I first saw these guys live opening for Metallica in April of 1989 in Battle Creek, Michigan. My buddy with whom I went to the show was friends with Jason Newsted and his family, and we got backstage passes even though Jason was the only one who bothered to greet fans after the show. We stayed in the same hotel as the bands that night and I ran into Geoff Tate in the lobby.

Queensrÿche - I Don’t Believe in Love (1988) bass cover

So when you ran into Geoff, did you knock him down? Just curious…….:joy::joy: seriously that’s a cool story dude!! Great job on the song!! One of my favorite bands!!

…and welcome to…
Operation Mindcriiiiiime…

That was sick. Very sinister tone…really well played. Gave me flashbacks from high school days…wore that tape out.

Nah my friend this was straight into my Focusrite 2i2.
In Logic I used the built-in Studio VCA compressor, the “Replika Shimmer” from Guitar Rig 7, Amplitube SVX-15N and the SVX Octaver, Logic’s built-in Chorus and (which now that I’m looking at it is probably redundant to the Shimmer and coullllllld be the source of the not-great audio), as well as a built-in “Chromaverb”

Oh ok that makes sense.

I didn’t knock him down, but he did give me a creepy wink when I said “Hey Geoff” as I passed him in the lobby.
