I just can’t seem to quit listening to this album. Hard to believe it came out 21 years ago…freshman year of high school for me. Yikes 
Added some overdrive & compression. Haven’t listened to this other than my headphones so I hope it sounds OK!

Great song, I still listen to it all the time too. Bass was mixed great - lower than some folks here would do it but mixed at a perfect level for the song itself. Well done!
It sounds like there might be some phase effect on the bass too - could be double tracking too. Did you double track it?

Thanks Howard! It’s just a single track with overdrive & compression. I turned up the gain a bit as well and IIRC boosted the mids & treble. Not sure where the phaser effects are coming from but I’m glad you liked it!

Yet another Phil Collins song, maybe it’s just a guilty pleasure, but the man definitely cranked out some bangers.
I especially enjoyed attempting to craft a tone to mimic the fretless from the original track. Recorded this one at work during some downtime; if you’re keen you can probably approximate what I do for a living 
Always open to feedback on recording/technique, etc.

Very cool song…well played! I am not familiar with this band so it is always great to get exposed to “new” (to me) music on here.
As I wrote on your YT channel, always fun to hear your Linkin Park covers! I think you’ll end up covering their whole catalog eventually.
Hey BassyBunch…that is a really good song and your technique looked great. I am nowhere near a sound expert, but I’m listening on headphones through my focusrite (which is usually nice & clear) and the bass on this recording sounded like it was recorded under water. Which is a bummer because it looks like you played it perfectly. Curious to see if others had the same experience.

Are you getting echo from the room? Sounds great but I’m just wondering about the acoustics if that sound is being recorded through a mic in that big room with flat walls maybe a direct line to your computer would help.
But, man would I love to rock out at volume in a big echoey room like that!!!
Now that the weather is nice I’m going to introduce the neighborhood to my playing and see if I can get some echo off of the hills around here. I mean, it echoes when I yell at the kids in the yard so there’s hope
