Post your covers! (2025)

Thanks fennario!

Thank you Duncan!

Enola Gay - OMD
Bass and synth on this one, ‘sadly’ no room for a vocalist
One of those songs that was a lot of fun to learn, and film!

That’s great! You’re so relaxed and jamming!

Btw, some of you are truly forum Jedi. I may not have commented, but I have watched all the videos which have been posted or linked to.

There is a lot of inspirational talent here.

Thank you, it’s been a very busy thread this year, it can be hard to keep up. It is inspirational though, and great for hearing music you may not normally listen too

Clone Andreas! Move over, @Paul_9207 !
The communication between the synth player and the bassist is great! Well done!

That’s great @AndreaJayne !

Funny I’m halfway through an OMD song at the moment.

Great work @saroohoo ! I’ll have to subscribe to your YT channel :+1:

Sweet bass too. It’s crying out for a skull though. Maybe on the headstock?

Oh that’s a great idea :skull_and_crossbones: Thanks Ed, I just subbed to you.

I enjoyed listening to you @JohnF. I was reading other threads while your video was playing - and you sound like you’re in the band.

I hope to be there someday.

(PS - I’m sitting here with my work laptop to my right, Mac to my left, bass on my lap, sometimes playing, other times browsing the BassBuzz forum, and finding inspiration in the community here. That’s a lot of good stuff, but I also think it could develop into some kind of problem :grinning:)

Thanks @damonjc …I appreciate that! Yes, this forum (especially this “Post your covers!” thread) has helped keep me motivated and inspired after the course. A lot of positive energy here where people provide encouragement and advice. For me, it helps if I pick songs to cover that I really love, that way it is enjoyable spending so much time with them. Enjoy your bass journey!

Lol. Here in Alberta we love ourselves some loverboy, paul Brandt, corb lund, and of course Nickleback.

Well done on Enola Gay, @AndreaJayne! As others have said, great chemistry between the keys player and bassist!

I don’t know this song, or to be honest, much from 10kM. That one of the pleasures of this thread! Great playing, @JohnF

Cream - Sunshine Of Your Love (fretless)

A second helping of Sunshine? I don’t mind if I do, this time on the fretless. This song was crying out for it!!

Sire V7 fretless into the Hotone Ampero, then on onto GarageBand.

Nicely done @JohnF - I’d always wondered what the 10000 maniacs were like :+1:
Oh I’ve just noticed - have you got the same bass as @saroohoo ?

Oh you can never have too much Cream @sunDOG  Great job - I think the fretless version has the edge…

Thanks, Duncan! Yes, 100% agree…every week there are songs and bands on this thread that I’ve never heard before and it is fun to have people from different parts of the world on here to learn what they listen to now and what they grew up listening to.

Thanks for listening to it! I’ve got a Yamaha TRBX304 and @saroohoo has got the TRBX504. So, same bass family, but Saroo’s has got upgraded pickups (Alnico V), Active/Passive switch, and 3-Band EQ instead of 2-Band which I think adds some midrange control. The finish on the body looks different too as mine looks more glossy versus the 504 satin.
