Post Your Covers! (2026)

We were in an AirB&B with some cheap, colourful poster-art on the walls. I thought the different coloured dots picture worked well with a song called “Come Together”. In times of angst and division, look for what can unify, rather than bifurcate…

Haven’t heard this in forever. Not since my last watch of Serial Experiments Lain.

Haven’t seen that in decades now. And it was my intro to Boa too

Thank you!!! @sunDOG @andrea-slnd @JohnF @TheMadBassist

BOSS ME-90B first test, plus Nine Inch Nails - The Hand That Feeds (Live)

Yep, I know I posted a cover of The Hand That Feeds last weekend, and here I am playing the song again. There is a reason though:

  1. the freakin’ tendonitis in my left wrist isn’t improving so I’m laying off the bass, meaning a) I’m not learning new songs and b) I just wanted to play a song once and be done. I’m actually getting a bit down about the wrist issue…
  2. I bought a new toy and wanted to do a quick compare and contrast!

So, to the toy, it’s a Boss ME-90B multi-effects pedal. It looks awesome, loads of analog knobs to twiddle, buttons and foot switches for hours tone adjustment with no menu diving. But, the freakin’ tendonitis…I haven’t been able to have much of a play!

This is the first go at DI recording on it. The unit claims to act as an interface but I cannot get it to work directly with my iPhone (my usual workflow has been a MFX pedal directly into the iPhone and GarageBand) so I went in via a Focusrite Scarlett Solo. I dialled in an amp sim (can’t actually remember which one), some compression, overdrive, ‘polyoctave’ (down one octave) and had about 50% of the dry signal coming through. At the end of the video, I put in a section where you can hear the final result without any NIN. I could have done with a bit more drive - there is a Big Muff sim on the unit - but this was a play the line once, capture it and move on kind’a effort.

Anyway, what do you think?

Seems impressive and super cool!

I’m sorry to hear the tendonitis still didn’t go away. These things take time. Sometimes might take a few weeks, sometimes a few months, depending on how bad it is. Unfortunately, if you feel pain while playing, you shouldn’t play.

I have been given conflicting advices by doctors when I had tendonitis. Some said to keep it warm, others to keep it cold. I use a cold gel pack I always keep in the fridge just in case. But for me, what helped the most was rest, rest, and a Diclofenac topical NSAID gel, that can be used to treat arthritis, tendonitis or muscle pain. I use one with 23,2 mg of diclofenac sodium.

Hopefully the worst is over and you will heal soon! Take care!

Hi,

I made this cover because the country where I live has introduced a law that if the police deem a place suspected of being drugged, they can close it down or make it impossible, even if the owner of the place has been cooperating with them all along. Many clubs, concert venues and festivals have also spoken out against this law. With this cover video, I would like to stand up for all the places, musicians and music lovers involved!

The chorus says:
“We’ve got no rights
When cops can kill
It’s not right
We live in fear!”

“Can kill” now means not only people, but also places. It’s very sad…

Above all else, your health is most important. If your wrist is hurting due to the tendinitis, it’s best to lay off for awhile. You don’t want to do any long term damage. Listen to your body bro. Those boss multi fx things are pretty good. I have a basic pedal that has a bunch of fx built in. I rarely use it, but I really need to. Mine’s a Zoom MS-60B. It does have some nice sounds to mess around with on it. Some that are head scratchers too though. Like why is this even on there type of thing haha. Very cool though the new gear ya got.

It has been almost four months since I made a cover video! Life has been crazy. This was a little ambitious, not musically but the video took me forever to figure out. Anyway, the song was fun to record, not a hard song to play, but guitar still needs lots of practice and singing needs a lot of attention too. But it was still fun to do a video again. I am struggling to mix the rhythm guitar with the bass and everything else really. I feel like I was relearning a lot on this one.

edit: after thinking about it for a day I went back and re mixed it. I feel a lot better about it now.
