Thanks Jerry! My wife got me a 360 camera for Christmas and I was finally able to play with it.
Thanks Adrea!
Thank you!

Awesome! Full band!
I made my first cover with my son earlier today and we enjoyed it so much that we put another one together.
It’s not perfect and I’m ok with that - it’s where I’m at. I’m a little over a year into this journey and it has been a fun ride so far!
Blink 182 - All the Small Things (Cover)
I chose this one for a chugging workout on the new Affinity active Jazz bass I received yesterday. Got off beat for a bit, but I got back on track. I’m looking for feedback - I want to continue to improve.
That was a great cover! You look like you’re having a lot of fun and you recorded yourself. Just keep doing what you are doing and you will continue to improve rapidly.
Great cover! Well played, and such a positive vibe on this video, as you are clearly enjoying playing, and it is the best feeling! ![]()
Hope the tendinitis improves soon. Very cool sound on that song! That effects pedal is going to be a blast to experiment with. The isolated bass at the end sounded awesome!
Great job, Travis! Haven’t heard that Toadies song in a loooong time. And the thumbnails are of course amazing as always!
Damn, Paul…that was VERY cool! Sounded great! I’m always super impressed by your multi-instrumental/vocals covers. The use of the camera was also well done.
Nice job, Professor! Looks like you’re having a ton of fun, so rock on!
Thanks, @JohnF! The tendonitis is still a problem, I’ve now got an appointment with a consultant in a week or so to try to figure out what is going on.
Re: the Boss ME-90B, it’s pretty cool! I really like how you can play with the sound by twisting a few knobs (you can go deeper on a PC, although I haven’t tried that yet). I also like how it sounds ‘recorded’, although part of that might be that I’m going through the Scarlett Solo.
I’ve got another example…see below ![]()
Fleetwood Mac - The Chain
My homage to this most iconic of bass lines!
D-Roc >> Boss ME-90B >> Focusrite Scarlett Solo >> GarageBand on an iPhone
Listen to the end to hear the bass, on its own, through the BOSS ME-90B.
Tendonitis still blights my playing!!
Awesome cover, Duncan! Gosh, this bass is so amazing, what a sustain!!! ![]()
That sounded great! That long outro starting at 3:04 is cool as hell…tendonitis be damned! Bonus points for the theatrics at 1:30…
Here’s a daily-double for Sunday! That makes 4 vids this weekend. I knew 2 of the songs before Friday, but not the other 2.
Foo Fighters - Learn to Fly (Bass cover)
Otis Redding - (Sittin’ on) The Dock of the Bay (Bass cover)
I pushed myself a bit, spent quality time with my son and we both enjoyed the process.
I admit I need to re-evaluate some of the technicalities of the process. We had sync issues and I had to turn the passive bass signal way up which made it sound a bit distorted at times. Little things, but I’d like to get to the bottom of it.
All in all, it was fun. I tried a variety of genres and used multiple types of basses. I’m coming out of this weekend feeling a lot more confident about my abilities.
Thanks for the encouragement and keep the feedback coming. Playing, recording setup, whatever. ![]()
My first full cover. Started learning the bass around half a year ago. Far from perfect, but wanted to record it so i can move on to another song.
Would love to hear some feedback on it.
Edit: as soon as i figure out how to link the video
Hey, congrats on your first cover and welcome to the forum! That was your first post and you’ll need to post a few more times before the system will let you add links. Looking forward to checking it out!
Oh, that makes sense! Thank you.

With the video linked this time, haha
Nice job! Some timing issues and note articulation throughout but overall very good. This is quite a hard song to be your first so kudos for that!
Nice piano playing, great add.
this should be posted in the appropriate 50 song challenge thread as well.
That was really good. Thank you for sharing. Clean sounding chugging. Syncopation was clean. Well done.
Thank you!
Yeah i’m definitely going for something easier next haha, just loved this song and ended up learning it.
Good idea on the 50 song challenge thread, I’ll post it there too.
Hi all,
I wanted to ask then entire community here to do a lot of the folks here a favor….
Covers, and in particular, The 50 Song Challenge - and providing feedback.
We are a beginner/learning community and providing constructive feedback is (at least in my opinion) part of the thing we should be doing. A lot of beginners are posting in the 50 song challenge songs without a lot of feedback - which makes the endevor a bit worthless for them. Folks helped us in earnest in the beginning, I think we should ‘pay it backwards’ as much as we can.
I still try to comment on every single 50 Song Challenge entry, and some Post Your Covers covers - where I think feedback is warranted or where I am just blown away.
I would encourage you all to give back a bit and help a lot of the newcomers on their journey. To me, this is at the core of our community, vs. our favorite movies, lyrics, hot sauces, etc. Don’t get me wrong, that can be a fun distraction (not as much fun as buying gear) but not what it’s all about in the bigger picture here.
Aerosmith - Angel
2026 so far has me firmly planted in my power ballad era ![]()
Something funny about this one, I shared in the YouTube description but wanted to post here because it’s too great to pass up - this song was co-written with Desmond Child (who also co-wrote “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing”) who said,
"Steven [Tyler] said at that time he met a very beautiful woman named Teresa, who he married, and he said, “She’s my angel.” And when he said “angel,” I looked at him, and he has those big blubber lips like Mick Jagger, right? When he said “angel,” it reminded me of Mick Jagger singing “Angie.” I thought, I want him to say the word “angel” over and over again so I can see those big lips flap in the wind, saying “angel.”
So, a song brought into existence by the co-writer’s desire to witness the singer’s “big lips flap in the wind” ![]()
Anyway, I’ve scaled back a good deal on “complexity“ lately in favor of trying to level up my overall musicianship and gain a better understanding of theory, song structure, chord progression, etc. “Angel” is pretty solid to that end, staying true to form throughout without a ton in the way of variation.
Tone wasn’t too complex either, straightforward SVX – CL into an 8x10 with a dab of chorus and tape saturation to get a touch of shimmery 80s width. Listening to it in the car, I feel like I might’ve left the bass a bit too high in the mix, so maybe it screams “YEAH BASS COVER” more than I typically prefer, but I guess that’s better than sharing here leaving people asking, “Where’s the bass?” ![]()
Hope y’all enjoy! As always, open to feedback, ideas, constructive criticism etc! ![]()
