Loved when Dio was in Sabbath! Rockin it as usual! :sign_of_the_horns:t2:

I never realized how power ballad-y this really is!

So I am wondering if your sync of your bass and backing track are off here, because you seem very consistently off here, which is not like you at all. Lots of notes are way off timing wise. Lots of notes are super super early etc.

Tone is great and articulation is great.

Thank you for posting this, @John_E, and pointing out additional benefits the B2B program offers.

Maybe everybody already knows, maybe not. I’d bet most in this thread see it, but I admit I didn’t see the full picture until I posted my first video for the 50 First Song challenge. I finished the program in January 2025; however, I didn’t post my first video until this past weekend. I thought it was just a way to learn songs. Yes, I’m learning songs, but it’s so much more!

Listening to and watching my video allows me to step outside of myself and really hear what I sound like and to look at my technique. But the best part is to have a group of veteran players provide feedback on my sound and my technique. Where else am I going to find dozens of people who are willing to watch my videos and suggest tips to help along my journey?

I signed up for an online course and I’m certainly glad I chose B2B. I had no idea that I was getting a knowledgeable and supportive community, an extended self-education program by participating in the First 50 Song challenge and numerous experienced bassists, many who have gone through the same program, to help along the way.

This place is awesome and the value is through the roof. I would’ve easily paid many times the price of admission.

Hi,

When I first wrote in this forum, I wrote that I like to play with fingerstyle as well, but somehow I have chosen songs that I have played with a pick. Now here’s a good Black Sabbath classic.
I used a Zoom MS60B+ multieffect pedal. My preset was: Optical Compressor, Blueberry Drive, Fender Bassman amp.

Thanks man

Nice cover! Lol. I didn’t even see that you put up Black Sabbath, it’s been a long time since I looked at the forum. Sorry for the “copying”.

LOL. That’s awesome… weird coincidence!

Huh, that is weird… I didn’t really notice this when I was wrapping it up, but now that I’m giving a more intentional listen, I can definitely hear it. I was fighting some latency issues in Logic while tracking, so I’m not entirely surprised… might’ve been playing to what I was hearing in my headphones and wound up compensating by playing earlier. I also just checked and realized that Pro L-2 had a pretty wildly high attack and release, so that probably threw things off…ugh.
I do tend to get “I’m pretty F-ing tired of this” as tracks near completion, so that fatigue was undoubtedly a contributor.

Hi hey g’day, here’s my cover (Any Way You Want It - Journey)

Flawless victory. All around great job. With the bird, that it’s own level of difficulty. :clinking_beer_mugs:

:joy::joy::joy::joy:, some people are triggered by discussions of sustain

I actually think it’s one of the most cool bass lines ever! It’s also part of British culture for people of a certain age (like me). It was used as the BBC’s theme for F1 coverage throughout my childhood!
