Post Your Covers! (2026)

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Born on the Bayou

Happy Memorial Day to the U.S. BassBuzz crew, and good vibes to everyone worldwide! Filmed this bass cover at sunrise in the Everglades. A duck wandered into the shot, gave me a look, and apparently decided CCR was worth sticking around for. I left the iPhone audio in so you can hear nature doing its thing, especially at the end.

The Beatles - Anna (Go to Him)

I’m trying to get better with a pick, so I’ve decided I need a project to get me in the habit of using one. I’m going to cover one song from every Beatles album in order. First up is Please Please Me. I tried a few songs but most of them frustrated me - this one was simple enough though.

Playing with a pick feels like going back to being a total beginner again. There were a few notes where I just missed the string completely, but I’m mostly happy with this.

Any advice is welcome!

That is great. And, a cool idea.

The only way to get comfortable with a pick is to use one. Good Job!

Billie Eilish - Bad Guy. Based on Josh’s tab from one of his videos, though I took some liberties with it.

Why are some of the chords scrolling by “greyed-out”? Transitional chords leading to the main chords, not in original recording, Moises isn’t 100% sure they are correct, or something else? Maybe something obvious - that just went over my head..

To be honest, I’m not really sure. The way I use it is to listen and play, as I look at what I interpret the main chord progression to be. Sometimes, there are two chords highlighted. This, I assume, either means Moises is throwing a wobbly, or it’s one chord played over another. It does sometimes show transition chords, but that can be hit and miss.

It’s clearly not perfect, but it’s still pretty cool.

Thanks for the detail - I appreciate it.

Happy playing :+1:t2:

Natalie Imbruglia - Torn

So this was a really fun song to play, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t find some guitly pleasure in this tune. The rhythm is somewhat challenging (as evidenced by my per-usual not-quite-on-but-not-strictly-“off” timing  ), and there’s some little variations in the progression from section to section that really do phenomenal to support the rest of the instrumentation/vocals.
I’d found a few more-recent live versions of this songs where the bass was infused with more gain and some modulation that I found quite appealing, so I tried to mimic that with this cover without being too overwhelming.
Boost on the SR500 was for the low mids (250hz), ran a light flange on my FX bus, and shot this SOB in one quick take at work

Great tone and nice job overall.

Couple of odd notes but I appreciate you taking liberties and making it your own a lot!

More catch-up. I’m on vacation this week and today we did a loooog hike! I’ve eaten and now I’m resting’ watching your bass covers!!

There’s a kudos prize if anyone can tell me where this is…!

Love it, @AndreaJayne! Great tone and you look like you were havin’ fun!!

This is great, @Paul_9207! The band played great!! :sign_of_the_horns: So good to see you out there!!

Gnarly tone in this on, @Paul_9207! Sounded great!

Great tone on this one, @Paul_9207. Rather jealous that you get to plan The Cure. Our singer won’t sing Cure songs. She thinks no one will like them. How wrong she is!!

Most excellent!! Well played!!

Love it!! Great tone and also love the video effect!!

Another great cover, @faydout! Love it!!

The only bass request I get from my wife is to put the bloody thing down and do something useful around the house! Well played, @Professor!

Ha! No chance in my household! Well played, once again!!

Can’t beat a bit of Siousxie! Well played, @faydout! Love the tone too!

Well played, @Mktony32. As you say, a bit of work on timing. For me, on a song like this, I find you need to fall into a flow-state and just let yourself go with the whole feel of the thing. I also find throwing in a few transition note here and there also helps.

This is a great song and your playing was great too, @Professor!

Not really my thing, @Professor, but well played - root and 5th is sometimes all you need!

Good to see you out in the wild, @beaurapp, well played!! No pressure with your bass solo! :sign_of_the_horns:

Ah, CCR, so good! Well played, John!!

Well played, @THRILLHO!!

The bass line on this one leaves you so exposed, doesn’t it, @DirkTungsten. Timing a bit off at times, but overall, well played. When I’ve had a go at this song, I’ve played it the neck, but with an octave pedal, so I can get the low D.

For reasons I won’t go into here, this song has a degree of meaning for me. Well played, @BassyBunch!

Thanks for the kind words. I listen to everything.

While I’d bet it’s a different continent, your pic reminds me of the area around Quandry Peak, near Breckenridge, Colorado.

I love Quandary. It’s my favorite 14er of the ones that I’ve done. It feels more like climbing a mountain vs going for a hike.

Myself and the guitarist really want to do A Forest, but she absolutely refuses. Along with anything else by Mr Smith et al.

Very annoying!!

Absolutely not in the Americas, north or south. That said, I have been through Breckenridge on a bike (as in road bike / cycling).

Correct, but can you name the lake

It a beautiful place, but has changed tremendously in the past 10 years or so. I was last there 12 years ago. My wife and I, along with a driver, were the only people for miles. Today, it’s a full on tourist destination, with an entrance fee, a proper road with bridges and tea shops!
