Post Your Covers! (2026)

OVerall nice job.

Bass a bit too high in mix but I LOVE the tone you have here.

Picking timing had a few blips in the beginning but you dropped into the groove pretty nicely as the song progresses. This song is not easy, kudos.

You might want to put a compressor in your DAW to even out the peaks and valleys of picking, will make you sound amazing.

Awesome bass and tone, a bit high in the mix but I really love hearing the tone anyway, lol. Great slap tone and growl on the picking parts. Well done!

I’ve always loved this song. Replacements used to cover this live. Have you heard the Mighty Lemon Drops cover of it? Probably my favorite.

Great job and nice bass! I’m like you, I don’t use that pinky, lol! (Sorry Josh):smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

You’re having a great time!! Love that version by the Beatcats :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Thank you! Yes, having a lot of fun recording these covers. :slightly_smiling_face:

I didn’t know about the Beatcats until I started looking into recording this one. I’ve watched several of their videos and they’re quite good!

@John_E Thank you very much! I’m using a Zoom MS60-B+, there is a compressor in the effects chain and I put an extra compressor on the finished recording in GarageBand! I will also try to put a compressor on the recording track during the recording, thanks for the tip!

@howard Now I listened to the Mighty Lemon Drops cover, I liked it a lot! By the way, I haven’t heard of them before!

They were a cool ‘80s band that had a neat mix of psychedelic rock and post-punk styles going. Not super surprising you didn’t know them

I absolutely love the mighty mighty Lemon Drops still to this day.

I agree! I used the Darkglass Ultimate plugin, and I have to admit I turned it up a bit more than usual

Thanks!!!

A lot of classic songs from my younger days have been posted in this thread and I’m feeling nostalgic. Here’s one that takes me way back. Yes, that’s me from the past that I’m staring at through the looking glass.

Siouxsie & The Banshees - The Passenger (Bass cover)

One thing to note, I omitted the triplets. I couldn’t play them consistently clean throughout the song - it’s a long one! So I made the call to leave them out.

Great job, and a very cool version of that song. You should give Dear Prudence a shot too while you’re digging in to some Siousxie.

Thank you! It was a fun song to play and it’s one of the uncommon cases where I enjoy the cover more than the original - and the original is a fantastic song!

Side note - this was the first video appearance of my Shoreline Gold Contemporary J.

This is a cover of a cover. The song was originally done by The Chicks.

It’s not YouTube, it’s the record company and the Beatles Estate. Looks like they finally figured out how to squeeze the last few drops of $ out of the system.

man this was perfect. Played so light and flowy, mix and tone perfect. So so good @JerryP
