@sunDOG This bass has a great sound! This was a great cover, well done! I imagine being in a band means constantly learning new songs, and sometimes some songs won’t be too interesting, but every song can be an opportunity to learning or practising something. Well played!

@Professor This sounds so wonderful! It is so awesome you and your son collab like this, and are having so much fun together. :heart_eyes: I love that you have a spreadsheet, it is so geeky (I mean is as a compliment; my husband and I are very geeky and love spreadsheets). Your videos look awesome and I’m looking forward to what you and your son will come up with in the future. Have fun!

@Professor Very nice! Wow, one day to prep 3 songs is not much time, so well done!

@beaurapp Very cool cover! I love this song. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!

@JohnF This was beautiful, John. Well played! I always enjoy watching your videos. I don’t know Katie Crutchfield’s music, but she has a beautiful voice!

@Mktony32 Great cover! And nice smile at the end, looks like you were having fun!

@Mktony32 Nice song! Well played!

@JustinAndSheba I haven’t heard this song in a long time! Well played! Sheba approves! :parrot: Which Squier Jazz bass model do you have? Did you change the pickups? Looks very nice!

@Mktony32 Very nice!

@THRILLHO Very nice job with this one! It doesn’t look easy. Well done!

@geoff Very nice!

@beaurapp Well played! You have very good technique. Nice job with this cover!

@Aleksandra This was awesome! Your technique has improved a lot. Bardzo dobrze! Nice choice of song too. I understand about feeling nervous in front of the camera. I’m camera shy myself, and so far I haven’t been able to film a cover video, but someday! :blush:

Thank you!

Thanks so much. It has certainly opened doors to other shared interests. For instance, I, along with my wife & son, have been learning Spanish for the last few weeks and I’m excited to see how far along he is when he’s back down next weekend.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Deep Blue Somthing

Although I had fun playing this one, you can hear me scraping the strings sometimes. Something I will work on.
Also I want to thank every one whom has taken the time to watch my videos and comment on them, it really means a lot to me.

Great job here! So cool changing the perspective in the video. I especially like the smile at the end! :slightly_smiling_face:

As far as string sounds go - I hear it, but it doesn’t sound excessive. Sounds like you’re a human and not a bot. :rofl:

Thank you, I think as humans we can hyper-focus on any mistakes we make. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

  1. My favorite movie (although has nothing to do with this song)
  2. Forgot about this song and always liked it
  3. Great job here
  4. GHS fast fret might help you glide across the stings a bit if it stays an issue

Good playing! I didn’t notice too much string noise. I haven’t listened to this song in a long time and didn’t really remember the bassline. Very melodic!

Hey, everyone! It has been a busy couple weeks. I’ve been working a lot with the original goth band I joined and we managed to get a gig to play a 45 min set at The Viper Room! It was a super cool experience and the sound quality was really good. We had a pretty good reception and I had come up with the bass-lines for all the songs we played! Nothing terribly complicated but I’d like to think it fit the song.

This is our song, Future Dracula.

Thanks Andrea. That’s a Squier Contemporary Jazz Bass HH. It’s all stock and strung with stainless flatwounds. They only produced these basses for about 6 years or so and discontinued them a couple of years ago.

I have Deadly Sinners on my long-term goals list. The speed on it is a killer. But I see you did that one a couple years ago. That random like you just got on it on yt was me. :slight_smile:

You’re My Best Friend by Don Williams
This is an old country song. Whilst I have a varied taste in music from folk to heavy rock, I have a real soft spot for country music .

I like to learn songs based on seasons just so I have at least something to learn and I’ve been sitting on my favorite songs from the Warped Tour era and since it’s peak summer it was time. It just doesn’t feel real that this song is almost 20 years old.
