she was helped me out last 20 songs of 50 songs chanllenge,
my first cheapest gear was mess up when I wanna try hard.
And, maybe I found way to balance enjoy playing and pressure up front camera
In my world, all songs is marathon, but I will find way to crash them, like a doom.

Tenacious D - Wicked Game bass improvisation
This cover of Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game is so well judged. The original is too long, in my humble opinion, and as a result, gets boring. Tenacious D nail it, and Jack Black’s voice … wow, that man can sing!!
I recorded my bass improve, trying to sit underneath Kyle Gass’s guitar, on holiday in Fuerteventura, playing my Hofner Shortie travel bass, through a Zoom B1four, into GarageBand on my iPhone.

Midland - Drinkin’ Problem
First time venturing into anything country-ish. I’ve always enjoyed the genre, but it’s never been so enticing from a musicianship perspective. I’d heard this song around the time it came out, and until recently it was just kind of a tongue-in-cheek tune that occasionally shows up on my Spotify “liked songs” However, last week, as I was exploring songs to learn on bass, this one hit just a bit different as I realized that a few days from now, God-willing of course, I will have been free of alcohol for 11 years. And, what better way to lend tribute to that than a song that acknowledges the problem AND views it as a solution (there’s an argument for stoicism - which is a philosophical framework that does a lot of heavy lifting in my life these days, but I digress 
)
Very fun song to play, not complex at all. The harmony with the guitar in the first bars of the solo is pretty neat, and there’s a couple fun fills sprinkled in. Tonally, very straightforward with the flatwounds on the Ray34 (+2 on the mids) leading the charge. Once in Logic, using Amplitube’s SVX-15N sim, a dash of Saturn2 “warm tube” and pinch of chorus for some width.

Love Hurts By Nazareth
This is a simplified version of the bass. It also took me a while to get used to the middle of the song, as no matter how many times I played, if I didn’t have the music, I would get lost . But in the end, it kind of clicked. Not 100%, but I’m slowly getting there.

Nice one, Duncan! Never heard that version. Hope the trip to the Canary Islands has been fun. Very cool about doing your field work for your thesis on Tenerife. We lived in San Cristobal de La Laguna, near Plaza del Cristo and Parque La Vega. My daughter had her first three birthdays in Spain and went to preschool in La Laguna. Yeah, Mount Teide is gorgeous. Really fond memories of our time there.

Great song…nice job! I love the version by Gram Parsons and Emmylou. And of course the Everly Brothers original. All 3 versions are cool.

Decided to chill out for a while and vibe by learning some of my favorite easy listening songs. So I did a little bit of a palette swap and it’s been pretty fun playing more relaxing basslines.

Twisted Sister - Burn in Hell. Fairly simple bassline, I was inspired to do it after stumbling upon a clip of Twisted Sister’s cameo in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. This was the song they were playing when Pee Wee crashed their video shoot!

Thank you, I don’t like drinking or anything else like that while I’m playing. If it makes it any better, I was on G&T #2 by the time I got the video posted last night.
By far my favorite inxs song, listen to it all the time. Shabooh Shoobah is their best album IMO.

Kick barely registers with me, and I don’t dislike it at all (maybe a wee bit too poppy). I listen to Shabooh pretty often and this song tends to pop up through my Apple Music algorithm all the time.

Over the Top from Everybody’s Talking About Jamie
My daughter and I share a love of musical theatre, and this is one of the shows we have seen more than once. It’s the first musical number that I have managed with my limited skill level. I did lose timing near the end, but I think I got it back.
