for sure expensive. howevs it is the flagship model and you can bet it will trickle down to the lower platforms soon. pretty sure we will see a hx stomp version at some point. me personally, i would still be drawn to the new darkglass bass specific multi-efx over this though, although the breadth of effects that helix has would be tempting.
Sure but the Darkglass Anagram is $1700 CAD
It looks great but that is a lot of coin.
I liked my HX Stomp but spent waaaaaay to much time menu diving / learning it when I could have been playing bass.
If I could find a bass centric unit like the Anagram in the $500 range I’d be tempted to look at multi effects units again.
But my little HX One does most of the things I’m interested in, albeit just one pedal at a time.
it definitely is a lot. but i’m seriously thinking about the anagram to replace my hx stomp. i agree, i love the way the stomp sounds but it is just a huge amount of menu diving and i always have to refresh my memory when i play with it (how the hell do you do this again???). and honestly, with the price i could get for selling the stomp and a few other pedals i wouldn’t need if i got the anagram (like my favorite pedal, my vintage microtubes) i would cut the buying cost in half.
and btw i got the valeton gp5 yesterday and haven’t had a chance to play with it yet, but man this thing is super tiny.
i just realized this is the bass player’s version of girl math
LoL!
been wondering for a while when we were going to see an upgrade. this does look good. is it worth $500/worth upgrading, im not sure. most importantly does it still have the drunk setting
Not for me. I recently bought a 10th Anniversary black and gold BeatBuddy for 349 €. BB v2 is currently pre-ordering at 430,95 €. Since my current BB does everything I need and much more, “upgrading” to a v2 would be a complete waste of money for me. I’d rather wait for the new MXR Bass Synth pedal to hit the EU market. I expect it to cost about 200 € less than a BB v2. So, I’ll save 200 € !!!
as i just said in another thread bass player math = girl math
Guys - just saying - I know these are cute and really good, but for that kind of cheddar you can buy a real drum machine (as in, the full musical instrument you can record hit albums with).
yep. but you cant stomp on a drum machine with your toe
actually i’m pretty sure you can
was gonna say
The Taurus is a classic. Behrenger is making an inexpensive new one now if anyone wants one.
Unlike their pedals, Behringer synths are well made. Like their pedals, they are perfect clones. Just needs the pedal controller.
Interesting if you’re a Boss stompbox fan (I am). I’m keeping an eye on this one. I could throw something like this between my reverbs and drive pedals and use it as a wildcard if I need another X on this song.
so as far as the anagram goes, just started poking around with it last night, but it really sounds fantastic and seems to have awesome presets built in to it. the screen is gorgeous and the packaging is top notch (it comes with a beautiful carrying case). but the main thing is this. as an example i bought a torso T1 sequencer recently. it does amazing things. but the manual is 240 pages long, and i’ve been to stoichemistry classes that were explained better and easier than the T1 manual. there are entire sections of it that i literally cannot figure out. the anagram’s manual (which i am going over at work today) is relatively short but thorough, well explained and this thing looks like the easiest to use multi-efx i have ever come across and i’ve come across a bunch. well maybe the zoom was easier. but still.
