Post your Ride/s

Hell, 7km of gravel will murder car finishes.

I grew up living at the end of about a 400-500m gravel road and that was too long.

Got a Land Cruiser @howard and because of the Roos and Wallabies here I rarely get up to 60kms/hr especially at night so the old girl doesn’t tend to get too knocked around

Ha! There’s a photo of some old holey worn sneakers held together with duct tape that are said to belong to James Hetfield in the 80s

Some awesome rides of all kinds in here. Kudos to all

Making me miss my various motorcycles and bicycles from over the years, particularly my Harley Sportster and an 8Bar Bikes track bike (single speed, fixed gear for those not familiar with track cycles), both of which were oodles of fun for unconventional commuting.

Nowadays, I just get the train, get driven around by Mrs J in her car, and otherwise walk / hike everywhere, so no photos I’m afraid

Can’t believe I never posted my current ride in this thread:

40 years is a long time! I’ve been riding for about 30 years and the risk to joy reward is just not there anymore. If I had dirt or gravel roads around I would definitely pick up a dirt bike or a quad. But city riding in crazy traffic I just don’t enjoy anymore. Everyone around here drives around while texting and you have to ride loudly and aggressively to get drivers to notice you.

In lieu of having a Bike Porn topic, this guy is selling his R25 for about $3k and it just looks so damn fun. Cool little bikes.

(250cc version of the YZF-R1, the bike I actually want but could never justify. Plus, the boss has vetoed my danger sport hobbies  )

I used to ride crotch rockets back in the day. My 2nd was a Yamaha FZR 600. I really enjoyed that bike.

Always loved the FZR.

I’ve never owned a Yamaha bike but I have wanted a YZF-R1 since the day they shipped. I’ve always owned Kawasakis; two EX-500 (later made the Ninja 500) and a GPz1100. The GPz made me realize I’m a litre-bike guy.

Spitting image of my first bike (I got mine in '87):

Later I owned a secod one of those, followed by:

almost that exact bike.

My first was a Ninja 250. That is what I learned to ride on. Then I had the Yamaha 600, then a Honda 600, followed by a Kawasaki 750, Ducati 900, and Honda 900RR.

After a few two many close calls, I gave up riding for a few years and when I met my current wife (who rides a Harley), I bough a Harley Fat Bob, followed by my current Harley Street Glide Special. This will be my last one, I’ve done enough riding.

Nice!

I could see going Cruiser these days, yeah. Something nice about having the bars come back to you

But alas, my motorcycling (and flying, and offshore sailing) days are over. Terrifies my wife when I do it, and I have had enough close calls (and scars to show for them) to admit she has a point.

If there’s two of you, not too bad, you can pivot and drag it round no trouble

I think my toddler is heavier to pick up than picking the wing up to bring it level for moving the glider round
