Today I learned that stop signs in France indeed do say “STOP”.

I wondered about that too - like, why is the sign in English?

The ocean part is just a mystery

Also, the US is not so far anymore if Greenland and Canada is already US territory … haven’t checked the news: is it?

I’ve stopped checking; this timeline just keeps on getting dumber and dumber.

I’ve been driving a 15-year old vehicle and have been kicking around the idea of buying something new for the last few years. I just never could bring myself to do it. Trucks in particular are crazy expensive these days, and whether they get dramatically more expensive in the coming days or not, they certainly aren’t getting any cheaper.

So anyway, here’s a picture of my new baby.

It’s the one behind and to the right of this behemoth.

I used to ride all the time, I gave my last bike to my son when he was in college. I wanted to get back into it and ride with my 6 YO granddaughter. This is a Trek FX 3.

That’s a fun little car!

I had that same one when on vacation on Sardinia. It’s perfect for racing around mountain serpentines, so agile, such great acceleration on slopes. Loved to overtake all those Germans with their huge overpowered Audis, BMWs and Mercedes…

It looks like you live in the north of France? Why not go for a test drive to the Provence or Haute-Savoie to test it’s limits?

Cool car ! When I arrived in France 4 years ago, that was the first car I considered. I finally wound up buying a 2022 Renault Clio RS Line with the Mercedes co-developed 4 cylinder 1,3L engine. It’s a little rocket, but super smooth. I have 3 dogs and wanted the extra room in the back.

I see that you (or at least the immatriculation) are from around Nîmes (30 Gard). I live in Arcachon (33 Gironde). Bonjour !

Département 30 is Gard in Occitanie in the south.

Ah, Nimes … that’s better than the north, much better.
The Cévennes are near … my favourite region in France. Wild, rough … and great to race … with a car or (better) with a mountain or gravel bike!

Somehow I thought that @terb lives in the north or around Paris, don’t know why.

But you’re right - the 30 reveals it all. Or the car is stolen

Or he bought it used. The immatriculation (Nummernschild) belongs to the car, not the owner.

Hahaha … the French

Had a great musician moment when I clicked on this thread and felt sure I was about to see all kinds of cool ride cymbals.

I get it.
I got it.
I figured it out.
