Hoping someone has a loud and cheap solution. I’m looking for a Bluetooth speaker solution that my guitarist and I can use when just the two of us practice. I was trying to run Bluetooth through a 25w guitar amp but it sounds terrible and now I need to use that amp for the guitarist.
I also tried one of those waterproof JBL jawns and it works but the volume was a little low for what we need.
Before you say, just play quieter, we were
My other option is a battery powered PA but I can’t plug that into the wall it’s charge only and then battery (lame).
I’ve got these, but was able to buy them as singles not as a pair, you would only need one, I do have two though. they are plenty loud and have bluetooth or wired using a mixer.
I had that a looooong time ago - a JBL PartyBox 310.
Big mistake, really!
That was when I still thought that more bass is “more better” … but it was just more BOOM! Also, I thought I could have a good sounding bass with rechargeable battery cheaply.
Which is not the case.
So, I have the JBL EON 710, which looks similar to the PartyBox 310 , but is a whole different animal: no lightshow, but an 8 band parametric EQ/DSP that can be set via Smartphone (and on the box itself). Absolutely silent (no humming, no hissing). Very neutral, if EQed properly. Enough bass.
Don’t miss the lightshow
PS I sold the PartyBox 310 to a (otherwise nice) russian guy, who told me (after he gave me the money) that it will be used at “the front line, for celebrations”.
WTF?
@Whying_Dutchman has a smaller version, but I got this one: the Sony ULT POWER SOUND series | ULT FIELD 5 Wireless Portable Speaker | Black. It’s loud. It’s battery or USB powered. Bluetooth or AUX in. I got it for my MS Surface Pro 11 Snapdragon Elite X with a Focusrite 4th gen 4i4 DAI. There’s a way to disable the auto-powerdown mode (which defaults to ON). I also disabled the light show, which significantly shortens the battery life. It sounds fantastic.
The Joyo BA-30 Vibe Cube Micro Bass Amp has disappeared from Thomann’s catalogue. It doesn’t seem to be at the German Amazon either. I should have bought it when I had the chance. I hope it will eventually come back.
Here’s the thing about back sub firing, it’s location sensitive. 4” driver can not generate long big bass low frequencies that bounce and trap on your wall using the Joyo, in a small room, like my shed or bedroom it sounds great but trying that outdoor and at my restaurant with nearly 20 ceiling is pushing its limit.
One reason why I didn’t buy it yet, is that I don’t know if I need it yet (I’m playing at home with a headphone amp, which is enough for my current playing). I don’t know when will come the time when I will want and have the opportunity to play with other people, and in that case probably the Joyo cube mini might not be enough. Maybe I should wait some more. Maybe in some months I will want/need something better.
I would like to know that too. I’m afraid probably they are not enough?
I have a friend who has a mini spark amp, and he used to play with a drummer in a garage. I don’t know how he managed that with a mini spark, and could he hear the bass at all.
