Project Basses

I second what @MC-Canadastan suggest, there is a youtube video of a guy using a heatgun and scraper to take off Stingray paint. I was going to do it to my black one, but I got lazy and just bought a BFR Slugger that is natural with satin finish. It looks like your Dart.

@Barney - how did you do this?

As previously suggested, a heat gun and a scraper.

I’d look at Warmouth, lots of good options to customize a bit.

Better deal. @Barney feel free to get whatever you want, as long as it’s roasted maple :maple_leaf:

Thanks @AnotherJosh I’m leaning that way. Reverb is odd sometimes for delivery to Canada. That guys shipping is more than the cost of the neck.

Check out Freestone necks. I have one on my 54P and it, I dare say, is as good as my Warmoth and is much prettier. https://freestoneguitars.com/

Isn’t Allparts the go-to place for replacement Fender necks? They ship to Canada from the US, so maybe not that expensive?

Yeah, and I know Warmoth is officially licensed by Fender to make replacement necks. Both should be drop in perfect fits.

It begins…

I tried sanding the finish off on the heel and it was thicc AF and somehow I started sanding it not-flat sooo I left it alone for now. Tomorrow I’ll unclamp it, cut off the extra dowel bits, drill it out, and see what happens
