The offer I got for the orange one s#cks!
There is only one thing not so great about Europe: the bass prices.
Please buy the Dub King and tell me it’s not so great

Did you get a visa?

How much would you pay?
I am back to getting a new one, maybe, possibly, perhaps.

It would cost me about 1100€, imported from wondeful Scotland.

You would really do me a favour to send pictures and tell me EVERYTHING about it! How does it sound? What genre could/would you play with it? Do you have more or less success with the female species? EVERYTHING!

This back & forth must end! I long for the chilled times before you posted about the Dub King, really.

Just need a passport to go to the States, just got to hope I don’t get an overly enthusiastic person at the boarder that wants to give me the rotor router treatment lol.

Hes asking $1000 USD but it comes with a Rev hardcase which is $250 by itself. Not sure what genre yet, might be good for a skapunk sound.

I’m married now, actually today is our 7th anniversary, thanks for the reminder but I did ok with the females in my younger years😉

Once again I apologize for showing you this

Seven years! Congratulations. In Germany that is the “verflixte siebte Jahr” (“d@mn seventh year”). If you make it beyond that, you’re safe!

My girlfriend and me are together for 24 years now. Not married though. If you get married, you can get divorced
I gave up my very wild times when I met her, not only because I’m terribly afraid of her ex-KGB father, but also cause she’s the best girlfriend ever!
And she told me (looking at me with very cold and intimidating but also very sweet blue eyes): “you can look, but you cannot touch”.
So the other female issues is solved ^^

Good price for the bass! Why don’t you take a ride to the US of A today, so we know this evening??!

EDIT when I came to the USA for the first time (business trip to Atlanta), I was asked what kind of business I had in the USA. This was shortly after 9/11.
I answered (with a grand gesture and some pathos): “I am here to help an American company conquer the world!
The uniformed guy looked at me with obvious hatred: " CONGUER THE WORRLD?".
And then he waved to huge guys with machine guns. I was prepared to die ^^
Fortunately, I narrowly escaped the rubber gloves in unpleasant places, because an American colleague could succesfully explain to the GI Joes that I am Dutch and we have our own “on the spectrum” humour.
Lesson learned: don’t be funny when entering the USA!

Does he know Putin? Lol. I still need to go to Germany one day, preferably during Oktoberfest. My mom’s from there and have cousin’s I have never met but I’d have no clue how to find them.

Hes still gotta send some pics and if everything looks good hes going to ship it to ND, much cheaper to send it there and I go pick it up then ship to Canada.

No, but he knows some people “really up high”, also in the other ex-Soviet dictarorships. He likes Putin though, which makes some discussions quite hard for me. I’m not a fan op Putin, obviously…

Oktoberfest is for tourists only! Go to the “Kölner Karneval”. This is the only place where you can meet funny Germans. Don’t mention the war, though!!!

Nooooooooooooooo! That takes too long! I need you to have the bass soon, so I can decide!!!

PS Edited my last post with some crossing the border advice. Everything should go smoothly if you’re not funny!!!

So much peer pressure haha.

I’ve crossed it many times, not to worried.

So I listened and I relistened to your cover and it really grows on me. I like it very much!

Reminds me a little of a totally different track I like:

(From the great movie “Everything Is Illuminated”, that has generally a very interesting soundtrack)

Let me welcome you to my hell, my friend - as a little “thank you”

I asked an owner of a Dub King this: “If you had 1200€ to spare and need a short scale, would you get the Dub King or something else?”

Answer: “Absolutely would not spend that amount of money on one lol. I got mine locally for $400 with hardshell case. I know they go for a lot more than that on Reverb, but I personally can’t imagine spending that amount on many basses, let alone this specific one. I was looking for a semi-hollow, and this fit the bill at a good price, so now I own it.”

He got it about a year ago.

So, now everything is up to you. Go get it, tiger ^^

What about this, @Whying_Dutchman?

I could go and get it for you…

Thank you, my friend, really appreciated!

But the most important thing is: short scale!!!

This whole discusion about a semi hollow is due to @swiens that posted about it some time ago

The search for the perfect short scale continues, if not some miracle happens :frowning:

Hey, this is a crazy bass!

Ibanez EHB1005SMS

@Al1885 - what’s your opinion?

It’s kind-of 30 inch (ok 30"-32"). It’s 5 string - and I would not mind that, to be honest.
Question is, if this makes sense for a (more or less) beginner?

Note that they make this in a single-scale as well as multi-scale version, so you have choices. The first pic in your post is the single-scale, FYI.

But single scale is 34" only, right?

Really want a short scale. And multi-scale would be an ok compromise.

Don’t like headless, but ok! Not sure about me having a 5 string - but I have a hipshot extender on my basses anyway. So that’s ok, I guess.

The EHB1000S is 30", and a four string:
