Purchasing a new bass

Currently I have a fender squier affinity pj bass, and I’m thinking of getting a yamaha BB234 (i will be testing one soon I hope). However in terms of quality, would it be worth it to buy the yamaha? I do prefer the looks of the yamaha, but was really wondering if i wouldn’t be downgrading. (For extra information, i mainly play alternative rock)

Another Yamaha to consider is the trbx 304. It’s not traditional looking but it’s an excellent choice as well.

@arrowxyz …I just purchased this Yamaha and I am very happy with it. There are some other Yamaha fans here as well.

Can’t go wrong with a Yamaha. I got the TRBX604 because of these fine folks and I don’t regret it for a minute. Course Howard keeps trying to tempt me onto the BB line as well.

You are correct, sir.

For wherever two or more are gathered in the name of Yamaha, Howard will be there.

So it is said. So it is written.

I haven’t owned a Squier Affinity PJ, but I did own a Squier Affinity Jazz at some point. Now I only have a Yamaha BB234. I can definitely the Yamaha is much nicer, both to hold and to play. Definitely an upgrade.

Even a pick guard hater should be able to see that’s a sexy bass

Yeah… it’s growing on me. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Especially after seeing/hearing it being played in the vid that Howard posted in the Bass Porn thread:

So it shall be done.

What’s keeping him though? Surely his Yamaha sense must be tingling like crazy by now.

Frankly, there is something to be said about more Yamaha love overall. Feels like they are not getting enough as is

Everyone has one or more favorite brands, configs and design styles.

Except, of course, for @Al1885. He has them all.
