So, after @Gio mentioned Bobby Vega in another thread the other day, I had to admit that, while I had heard the name a couple of times, I wasn’t familiar with his playing. And so, I went googling and that eventually led me to the Pilgrims of Stoke (check them out!).

Very nice music, very honest music - also sounds so quintessential Californian to me (don’t ask me why):

I especially dig the harmonic “modulation” for the chorus. And, of course, the tasteful fretless

Not sure about the sound but the scenery in the video is definitely looking pacific coast US to me

Visual artist lives in the Bay Area, probably why.

Yeah, there are many (more or less subtle) clues that probably made me, consciously or sub-consciously, associate this with California  (“recorded in Redwood City” :joy:)

Hey @Mac , sorry for the late reply but you’ll be glad to hear that there is a sequel to Sin City and it’s good. “Sin City: A Dame to Kill for”

I think whoever is working on Kiyoshi’s image has watched this video.

Thanks for that . I’ll certainly be looking for that. Hopefully it won’t be a sequel letdown like so many

Obviously it wont hit you like the first (because it’s more of the same) but more of the same is good. Let me know what you thought of it

I love me a band that writes songs about anime and games they like. This one is about a competitive Japanese Mahjong league

Been playing Hades lately and the game has some great music.
One cool thing is that during calmer moments the game only plays the bassline or other instruments, and when the action starts the whole track kicks in. So you can find some cool basslines like those:

Been thinking of picking that up, looks awesome! Actually, I’ll just buy it now, Steam sale is a good excuse.

I’ve been enjoying the music in Othercide (another great game if you don’t have it). Ranges from very symphonic/atmospheric metal to ethereal, dark indie. All very atmospheric.

I’m alone at the office today, so
