Alright, it’s Jan 1 and it’s Friday - let’s have some Jeff Berlin as he rips it up with Bill Bruford on ā€œJoe Frazierā€:

Love those Bruford records with Holdsworth & Berlin! :star_struck:

that’s quite interesting : procedurally generated djent / prog metal

Very interesting. I wonder what kind of rules he put on it for phrasing and so on over just being random.

Probably even better with King Crimson

Bruford is one of my all-time favorite drummers - so versatile…

Absolutely, I believe he was a pivotal part of both Yes and King Crimson’s most exceptional years in the 70s, which he left, at least Yes, at the height of their creative powers, and next thing you know he’s heading his own innovative fusionesque prog band full of luminaries, only to take another ā€œwildā€ turn and be part of yet another innovative reincarnation of King Crimson considered by many, myself included, to be a wholly different band to that of the 70s… And the story goes on and on. You can tell I love the man

I’ve read the comments on YT, he gives a bit of insight but still I’m unable to imagine what kind of programmable routines he may have used so as to make the result not only resemble but do actually sound like Djent. Could this be the future of music…? I hope not…

good grunge is rare.
