That thing must weigh a ton.
Friday already psychobilly, someone ? with an upright of course
Something quiet, contemplative, atmospheric from me today (no surprise there, I guess ) - a young Norwegian bass player, Andreas Oxholm (channeling a bit Marcus Miller perhaps, pork pie hat and all):
Happy Friday!
A couple from me this week. Bands that changed how I though about āRock Musicā. Pere Ubu just kind of shocked me out of my punk, and The Cardiacs who shocked me out of everything else. Strangely the Cardiacs video was the one we all saw at the same time in the U.K. The next day I and everyone else I knew were just, did you witness that? It was the same reaction as the Pistols on The Grundy Show.
Please let me know what you think!
Edit: This could be a wormhole to a new existence. Or not.
Or straight into a Terry Gilliam movie!?!
Whacky stuff
I like it !
Nice! Someone has taken more drugs during the making of this clip than I ever have or will in my entire life
āPere Ubuā reminds me somewhat of The Smashing Pumpkins
Cheers, Joe
And . . . speaking of āFridayā . . .
Cheers, Joe
Iād say the same but maybe the other way around. By twenty or so yearsā¦
Iām loving it! Ā©Coca Cola
Iām playing that again!
I just had a felling it might appeal to you!
āThis oneās a very old songā¦ about two years old. Some of you might remember it.ā
not really what Iām listening everyday, but I like this song
Happy Friday!
Iām a huge Pink Floyd fan, going way back to the 70s when they were gaining popularity. I rarely enjoy a PInk Floyd cover because their style was so hard to duplicate, but these guys nail this medley. Watching Benny Jud on that 5-string bass, I can visualize Roger Waters playing.
They also do a complete Dark Side of the Moon cover, but itās pretty long so Iām not posting it. When you have a half hour to spare you can look it up on YouTube.
Some prime 4ad with a killer bassline. Love Lush.
This has been on my mind lately and I need little prompting when somebody else starts the psychobilly.
I only resisted one of the 1980s live clips because the sound was terrible. This is a blast from my punk days, influenced by my older neighbour.
Iām amazed Lux Interior lived into his '60s.
