"Share some good music" Friday

Yeah, well… OK… you have to have some ambition

And “just” might just be enough to really hurt… remember Tantalos??

That was fun - I needed that!!

And it’s not even that they are trying to save very good stuff either :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

No kidding. Hamms is the worst. Trust me. We wouldn’t even drink that crap in high school.

Not the best production value in this one, but if you’ve never heard Shawn Lane before, here is your chance:

Happy Friday!

One of our favorites!

I’m down for a sub-thread dedicated exclusively to Red Fang and their videos… All in favor?? (I’m raising two hands, and working on making more profiles with alias email addresses…)

My brother-in-law-in-law (brother of my sister-in-law) loved Hamms.
So I came to love it.
I don’t know if you knew this, but Hamms is from the land of sky blue water…

haha @Gio yes those guys are a bit crazy. I saw them live one time, just after Karma To Burn. and before that, a lonely guy with a belly who played pure sludge with a cello, wearing only underpants. may sound like a dream (or a nightmare). was a good evening.

love also this one, fucked up from A to Z. and the riff is freaking cool.

My favorite too. They encored with this at a San Francisco show I saw them at, and it was just delightful how insane everyone got.
They’re one of my favorite bands to see live. Such a good feeling of camaraderie and joy from the musicians, and such great musicianship, and such rocking tunes!

yeah @Gio totally agree, it just feels like a band of friends doing some stoner and drinking beer. a dream again :v::grin:

oh and I were speaking about Karma To Burn. those guys released THE BEST RIFF OF THE KNOW UNIVERSE !

funny enough, with a few friends we sometimes record what we call (in french) “des ptits bouts” which means very literally “some lil’ stuff”. that’s a short part of a cover, made quickly with nothing (in my case, a cell phone in balance with my coffee mug ; the amp tone is recorded by the phone mic, that’s really a $0 cover), in just a few minutes. I happen to record this one this week :

… might be a little bit up-tempo … :v::grin:

this Telecaster is called Juliette and it’s the absolute last object on Earth I could sell. one day she told me she wanted to be buried with me. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Out of curiosity:
You seem to be right-handed… so what is that south-pawed bass doing there in the background?

it’s right handed too … it’s a Yamaha SBV 500 and yeah it has a kinda strange shape  but still a right handed instrument. you can see it in action on some of my covers !

it’s a very rare and very awesome instrument, the only problem I have with it is that it has a JB-style neck (narrow) and I much prefer a PB style neck (much wider). still a very good bass.

maybe a repost (don’t think so but maybe). well, excellent deathcore, which is some kind of a progressive hybrid thing between death metal and hardcore punk and I guess it means @joergkutter should like this, in theory ? not 100% sure :joy: still excellent music.

with a 5 string bass to please @PamPurrs hopefully

Gio that is truly hilarious.

Oh man. Have you seen the commercials and maybe sung the song? That part is in fact kind of worthy

I learned a lot going on tours through Milwaukee…

And - @terb that rules with the ultimate riff, and the riff sharing. I’ve been doing similar things with all the musician buddies I have around my community. Everyone out here is usually playing in more palatable/bookable forms of rock and Americana… some singer songwriters, some pros that are in 4 bands - all kinds.
But no metal.
I’ve gotten a bunch of them to play metal with me during this virus shut-down.

That’s all it takes to get your friends to play metal with you.
A full-blown pandemic.

The drummer here is in a Pogues cover band and a bunch of jazz bands - the guitar player is the front man of his own folk-singer-songwriter-americana project, and the singer is also in the blues/americana world.

I’m connecting with everyone through facebook, so the only vid I have is there. Not sure if it’ll come through…

the video player here doesn’t seem to work for me… if you’re curious, you can click here.

Video worked for me, that’s great

Ooh interesting. They seem inherently hard to cover (sober anyway)
